Based on the ‘warehouse style’ interior, a concept relatively new in Pakistan, my aim was to experiment with material and colors to create a warm inviting atmosphere. As project architect, I built a strong relationship between the two dominant materials, the brick on the accent walls and the wooden elements suspended from the darkened ceiling. HEAD OFFICE
Murad Jamil & Associates
Designed to make a strong statement for the new Microsoft Pakistan head office, this installation is visible from the exterior corridor within a large office building. The delicate elements are clad with a polished wood laminate, and diverge at different angles as they rise up towards the ceiling, intersecting at varied points. The translucent Microsoft colors on the sliding doors smoothly divide, visually integrating the main office area with the reception

Site Model of the empty lot opposite the Gehry building, built on a scale of 1/32” to 1’ The topography was laser cut from 1/8” thick art board that represent 2 feet in elevation. The laser cut topography included plugs for the surrounding buildings that were shaped using a hot wire cutter and foam- this was then finished with gray acrylic paint. Several conceptual models of the Neuro Dept were built before a final one was created for presentation to client. Combined levels sketch up model with plugs

Process of changing arrangement of program spaces around the Spine
CRANBROOK ACADEMY OF ART
FABRICATION CENTER
M.ARCH
A process oriented project to design a fabrication laboratory with a supporting program comprising of student studio space, artist studio space and student dorms, keeping the existing academy architecture as a vital consideration in all stages of the project. My site strategy stemmed from the discovery of the lack of ‘gray’ spaces in the Nolli plan, therefore, spaces that were sheltered from the harsh weather and still gave the user the feeling of being outdoors. The gray space was incorporated in my design as the main indoor ‘spine’ of the program created as a continuation of an existing outdoor axis; thus creating the indoor/outdoor space to which all other programs latched on to.

The main circulation to all programmatic spaces is through the Spine to create constant social interaction between the users of the building, The public gathering spaces such as the fabrication gallery, exhibit spaces, library and cafeteria are located in this corridor. The floor level of the corridor is broken into “steps” to create active social spaces.

This drawing was completed in coordination with the Beijing branch of GBBN; I was assigned to update all the plans, elevations and sections adjusting each according to the new changes and additions. My primary task was to change the material detail of the curtain wall in the plans in coordination with the sections. Section A

Lens 5 Conjecture Scheme 1 : Table The basic structure can be said to be in the form of a table, with the roof of the lense resting on 4 legs, braced together.
Paths of Resistance
Scheme 2 : Projected Lenghts The table legs are at an angle to one another, therefore, allowing them to take loads from two directions, albiet in shorter, projected lengths.

STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS
NELSON ATKINS MUSEUM
M.ARCH
As part of my Integrated Technology course I was to conduct a detailed investigation of a module of a building. The Museum by Steven Holl is a unique project that comprises of a complex structure that was designed to follow the whims of the architect to create a particular ‘feeling’ within the building. While the resulting structural steel skeleton looks haphazard, within this chaos, I discovered some repeated structural systems that are the core concepts applied to create this fascinating building. My task was to make conjectures regarding the most probable structural solution that the engineer employed.
Scheme 3 : Alignments Due to the body of the lense not being uniform, the legs of the table are not in line, therefore widening the combined projected lenghts.
Scheme 4 : Concrete Core The plan shows the concrete core between the two T’s that is probably adding to the resistance in both directions

THESIS PROJECT
HABITAT COMPLEX
FIFTH YEAR B.ARCH
The Habitat Center is an organization that aids institutions (such as NGO’s) and individuals who work to improve human habitats. This Complex houses these organizations and allows them to function as a single task force whilst providing them with facilities. The architectural approach to this project defines parameters for a coordination based program where interaction between the users is encouraged at a formal and informal level.

PAPER
The architecture will facilitate intellectual learning; this will be achieved by playing with spatial dynamics that allows the overlapping of various activities of the Habitat Complex. Methods of spatial analysis and spatial configuration are applied to create connections depending on the relationship of the users rather than the relationships of spaces. A seamless spatial and social network at a cross departmental macro scale and cross office micro scale is created.

Themed drawings made on the work and style of different architects to represent varied aspects of their work. This project was assigned to us in preparation for the Cranbrook Fabrication Center project so we may appreciate the nuances of the style of various architects and their varying degrees of attention to detail. These drawings were our representation of their methods.
