Zagazig is a large city along the eastern section of the Nile Delta in Egypt. Zagazig is the capital of Sharkeya Governorate in the eastern section of the Delta and overlooks the Nile, Mois and Ismailia Lakes, and the Muiz Canal.The city is located 85 kilometers northeast of Cairo, the capital of Egypt. The city of Zagazig is divided into two major sections: Hay Awal or the First Neighbourhood and Hay Thany, or the Second Neighborhood. The city also has a large number of districts. The most important public squares of the city of Zagazig are Tala’ebHarb Square in the center of the city and Kawmeya Square, El Sagha Square, El Montazah Square, Sphinx Square, and El Tahrir Square. The most famous streets in the city of Zagazig include Governorate Street, or Abdel Aziz Ali Street, El Amn El Gheza’ie Street, Kawmeya Street, Tobla Ouweida Street, Saad Zaghloul Street, Gala’a Street, and Tal’aet Harb Street. Zagazig has three main bridges called El Sagha Bridge or the New Bridge as the inhabitants of the city prefers to call it, El Zera’a Street Bridge, and Kafer Abdel Aziz Street Bridge. -Egyptian cuisine makes heavy use of legumes, vegetables and fruit from Egypt's rich Nile Valley and Delta. It shares similarities with the food of the Eastern Mediterranean region, such as rice-stuffed vegetables, grape leaves, shawerma, kebab and kofta. Examples of Egyptian dishes include ful medames, mashed fava beans; kushari, lentils and pasta; and molokhiya, bush okra stew. Pita bread, known locally as eish baladi , Modern Standard Arabic: ĘżayĹĄ) is a staple of Egyptian cuisine, and cheesemaking in Egypt dates back to the First Dynasty of Egypt, with domty being the most popular type of cheese consumed today. -Common meats in Egyptian cuisine are rabbit, pigeon, chicken, and duck. Lamb and beef are frequently used for grilling. Offal is a popular fast food in cities, and foie gras. Fish and seafood are common in Egypt's coastal regions.
-Tea is the national drink of Egypt, and beer is the most popular alcoholic beverage. While Islam is the majority faith in Egypt and observant Muslims tend to avoid alcohol, alcoholic drinks are still readily available in the country. -Popular desserts in Egypt include baqlawa, basbousa, and kunafa. Common ingredients in desserts include dates, honey, and almonds.
The climate in Egypt varies from surprisingly cold to extremely hot. Along the northern coast of the country the climate is Mediterranean during winter (December through March) – cool, windy and humid, with occasional rains. Sometimes Mt. Sinai can be covered with snow! Summer in Egypt (June through September) ● Summer temperatures in Cairo range from 26 C to 40 C. (It will be less in Zagazig) ● Winter temperatures in Cairo range from 9 C to 22 C ● For EP’s coming in the winter cycle, they are required to bring sufficient warm clothing.
● The national dress for Egypt is a Jalabia, which is worn both by men and women but most of modernized people don’t prefer to wear it. ● For males there is no restriction regarding the type of clothes they can wear. ● Women in Egypt usually wear westerns clothes such as jeans and t-shirts but not hot shorts or such in non touristic cities Like cairo,tanta.damietta.alexandria,zagazig,mansoora,menofeia,minya. ● While living with host families females shouldn’t wear shorts or clothes that may be considered inappropriate. They will be expected to where clothes that fully cover their body mostly.
● AIESEC Zagazig will provide accommodation to the EP’s at the EP house ● The decision to place an EP in the EP House or hostel will be at the discretion of AIESEC Zagazig and it will be based on factors such as the closeness of the facility to the workplace. All EPs will be treated equally and will get satisfactory housing. Also the rooms will be on sharing basis so you can expect to have 2-3 roommates. ● EP’s are not allowed to bring guest in to the house without prior permission from AIESEC in Zagazig “The Fees of the project covers only 6 weeks”

• EPs Can not post any complaints they have on Social Media, in an event where any such complaints are posted on social media. We will expect the EP to make sure that he/she does not post anything negative about AIESEC on social media. All complains must be directed to the hosting entity. • EPs are encouraged to contact respective Vice President from Zagzig and from Home LC to effectively resolve any issues, if they arise. Rest assured, AIESEC in Zagazig university will provide full support to resolve any issues that EP might face.

• Consequences of any parties/functions/events attended that were not AIESEC or AIESEC-related events will NOT be AIESEC’s responsibility. • The EP is expected and encouraged to attend events arranged by AIESEC in Zagazig University. • We will try to always arrangie Daily Outings and Weekly Trips for all the Eps to discover the beauty of Egypt and take the most out of the experience [ These outings and trips are not covered ]
• AIESEC will provide EP with a Invitation Letter and supporting documents. • CXP team will help in any visa extension issue, just let them know beforehand. • AIESEC will not assist EP for visa extension after completion of their internship, If an EP wishes to stay after Exchange, He/She will have to sign an indemnity form taking the whole responsibility of their extended stay.
• Working days vary from 3-5 days and working hours from 2-6 hours per working day depending on the EP’s Project as well as The NGO • Weekends [ Friday and Saturday ] are off for all the projects • If the EP have any kind of problem concerning the work , he/she should immediately contact the project manager responsible for the project
• AIESEC will not be held responsible for EPs actions as an individual. • EP will take into account all of the things mentioned above and understand that it is for their own security and problem free experience. • In case of any issue, the EP will report directly to CXP, team leader for their project or the team Leader Responsible for their Project
