In the heart of downtown San Diego, this 50,000-square-foot, state-ofthe-art, urban venue is the ideal location for your next event. When you book at the Museum, your support helps us continue to offer innovative art exhibitions and creative programming to all San Diego children and their families.

The Main Level encompasses the Museum’s largest open spaces with ceilings spanning 50 feet high. This space is ideal for elegant receptions, lively concerts, seated dinners and festive dancing. The Main Level can be utilized in its entirety or broken into sections for a more intimate setting to fit within your budget.
The Lower Level offers versatile space for a cocktail hour or intimate reception.
Upper Level 175 reception | 100 seated

The Upper Level overlooks the San Diego skyline, as well as the lower levels and vibrant artworks. The airy ambiance of this space is perfect for a cocktail party, celebratory reception or intimate dinner. This space is ideal for small events or limited budgets.
Arts Education Center Featuring unique classrooms, the Arts Education Center provides an array of flexible spaces for your next board meeting, break-out session or satellite workspace. *Seating capacity varies based on room configuration.

PLAN YOUR EVENT Green & Sustainable The New Children’s Museum is one of the first green museums in California. The environmentally sustainable building includes a 17-foot concrete entrance bridge, an angled saw tooth roof structure, tilt-up concrete panels and a glass-enclosed elevator shaft that functions as a heating and cooling tower. The structure utilizes green architecture and infrastructural practices, including recycled building materials, a passive air handling system, photovoltaic panels, water-saving devices, natural daylight and convection cooling. The Event Services team will assist you in preparing a sustainable event from concept to completion.
Corporate & Non-Profits From formal banquets and networking events to board meetings, the Museum offers distinct spaces that can be easily transformed to accommodate your needs – and the stunning architecture and contemporary art exhibitions provide an extraordinary backdrop!
Weddings Make your special day unforgettable! Hold your ceremony and reception at The New Children’s Museum, exchange your vows and enjoy cocktails while overlooking the downtown skyline. The Event Services team will customize a package specific to your budget and number of guests.

SERVICES & AMENITIES Catering The New Children’s Museum offers a wide array of award-winning caterers with extensive experience and a proven track record of events of all sizes. Alcohol beverage service is contracted separately through our exclusive bar service.
Equipment Rentals A premier partnership with Raphael’s Party Rentals enables the Event Services team to offer competitive pricing. Raphael’s has a substantial selection of equipment rentals ranging from dressed tables to lighting needs.
Parking Forty parking spaces are accessible from Union Street and Front Street. In addition to the on-site garage, metered parking is available in the surrounding neighborhood, as well as numerous public parking lots in the near vicinity.
Hold Your Date Upon initial request, from phone or e-mail inquiry, the Museum will hold your reservation for 14 days as a tentative hold. Within that time frame, a site visit may be scheduled and the reservation may be held for an additional seven days.
