IOWA PRIDE CHALLENGE

The Iowa Pride Challenge has been serving schools and communities for a decade as basketball teams routinely perform service projects benefiting their local communities. Many of those efforts were severely impacted this past fall as COVID-19 forced many of the annual participating schools to abandon their projects.

There were still a handful of schools that were able to complete service projects and conduct scrimmages. We want to thank all those who began the Pride Challenge process and those who participated. Community service award winners have been determined and are listed below with each receiving a $500 service award for their student government program.

The five service award winners for 2020-2021 are as follows:

• Albia – A Family in Need Yard Work • Waterloo, West – Clean the Athletic Area Event • Calamus-Wheatland – Community Food Drive • Carroll – Farmers to Families Food Box Program • Fairfield – Youth Basketball Skills & Role Models
