Site:Build a building game in Metaverse with Unreal Engine
What will the architectural 'style' of the metaverse be? Drawing inspiration from building mechanisms in popular 'creative' videogames such as Fortnite, this project explores how the component-based collage approach to building that these games promote could produce a resurgence of postmodern architectural princples in the metaverse. The building systems of Fortnite could be seen as an influential piece of design software, espacially among its most populous player base, 18-22 year olds. The project seeks to engage these young people with architecture by using a game-based mechanism they will be familiar with, placing it in an architectural design context. By analysing visual techniques and details from notable postmodern buildings, the project invites players to experiment with architectual design in a Fornite-inspired environment, with user constructions judged on how closely they align with postmodern design principles. With millions of young people already highly familiar with such building systems, the project questions how such interfaces might become more and more integrated into design tools and what this might mean for future architects of the metaverse.
A 4-Metre World
Players can create structures within a 4 metre volumetric grid, inspired by Fortnite's building mechanisms. By connecting a design environment to building systems in commercial games, Post-City aims to engage gamers with new architectural principles.
Postmodern Prototypes
Prototype studies for Post-City's building systems created in Unreal engine. Systems include 'scoring' criteria which judges the player's designs based on principles taken from postmodern architecture and rewarding players for applying them well.

Hutong is the representative of Beijing culture, it is a special urban texture. With the change of time, Hutong has changed from adapting to the local humanities to being unsuitable for people to live now. The user population has changed from all ages to the elderly. In the process of generating, starting from spontaneous architecture, it is found that architecture should be changed over time. Combined with the development of current big data, it is possible to produce, analyze and use data, thereby improving, and reciprocating a dynamic city.
There is a popular saying in Beijing that "the rich don't live in the southeast house, and the east is warm but not cool in summer". This custom is also reflected in the urban planning of Beijing. From the Yuan Dynasty, the Beijing city has undergone strict planning control. Later, the Beijing city in the Ming and Qing Dynasties was developed on the basis of the Yuan Dynasty. To this day, Beijing City still basically maintains this checkerboard layout. But before the emperor’s notice in Beijing, it was a higher-level planning command that controlled the development of the city, but the generation of courtyards was bottom-up. People built them according to their true and unique self-needs, and the term “private construction and disorderly construction” came into being. Because there is no unified plan and form, the city will appear to be crowded and chaotic. The government believes that it will affect the appearance of the city and needs to be demolished.

Function Analysis Of Yard
The in the research area can be divided into three categories based on the characteristics of the spatial pattern, namely, courtyard yard, row house yard and compound yard.
The tea room is put in the simulation. Two boxes are placed near the two tea rooms in the north, two boxes are placed in the southern tea room lacking space, and two boxes are placed in the west near the office building, totaling six. Test for one month. The frequency is eliminated and replaced.
The studio is put in a simulation. There are more office areas in the west. Two boxes are placed near the two scattered studio sites in the west, one box is placed in the southern studio, and three boxes are placed in the middle near the residential area. In order to attract a total of eight young people, the test is conducted for one month, and the replacement is performed according to the frequency of use.
The bookstore launch simulation. There are more office areas in the west and higher demand for bookstores. 5 boxes are scattered in the south and 4 boxes are placed in the north near the commercial area. In order to attract tourists, a total of 16 boxes will be put in the test for one month. Use frequency for elimination and replacement.
The chess and card room is put into simulation. The middle is the residential area with the majority of the elderly. The chess and card rooms are the main entertainment activities for the elderly. There is a large demand for chess and card rooms. There are 6 scattered, and a total of 11 boxes are put in for a month.

The theater industry is gradually weakening, performance groups are shrinking, and the number of audiences is declining year by year. "No one wants to watch" has created "self-denial" in the hearts of opera actors. More and more opera actors are reluctant to perform again, leaving the stage where they were once passionate. We hope to use our limited architectural vocabulary to intervene, focus on the present, based on the original, guard the old things, and rejuvenate.

how to revive Shaoxing Opera and active the site?
Buiding becomes a media connect for two different kinds of empathy, and the travellers in the building are divided into actors and the audience, we hope to use architectural methods to dual-drive.
empathy between actor and audience
Shaoxing Opera actor the actor's speculation and interpretation of the role give the audience empathy the audience gives the actor a sense of identity at the moment of empathy empathy between building and visitor building
Two different kinds of empathy
Shaoxing Opera Analysis after a long period of development and prosperity, Shaoxing Opera is now in the cold winter
Nowadays, there are fewer and fewer audiences who love Shaoxing Opera, and we are reluctant to perform on the stage Without the recognition of the audience, we gradually lose our sense of self-identity

Xifeng's vicious advice
Xifeng gives vicious advice to Baoyu's mother, this seemingly unimportant plot actually determines the different fate of Baoyu and Daiyu hazy complex extracted elements of the shadow wall in ancient Chinese architecture, starting with a hazy sense of space the ceiling that breaks the ordinary boundary gives people different feelings of thrust and pull, and combines with different colors of light to feel the complex interweaving before the grand finale
Read The West Chamber together Daiyu's death from the conversation, the two protagonists rebelled against feudal society
Daiyu fell ill in bed. She look at the bright lights outside, and the darkness and loneliness are her own rebel lonely break the shackles of the layer in the constraint space, form the line of sight and path of penetration and continuity replace the contrast between light and dark to the city and indoor, and place it on the left and right of a niche, use the curve inside the niche to give the body a sense of envelope
Daiyu buries flowers (part 1) Baoyu and Baochai get married
Daiyu is alone and sad and her mood is getting lower and lower build a sinking and compressed corridor, at the end of the corridor, there will be a burst of light guiding tourists the absurd thing happen. Baoyu is forced to marry Baochai and learn that Daiyu was dead with steps that break the cycle and breaks the conventional scale, visitors can realize that every step under their feet exists
Daiyu buries flowers (part 2) Baoyu wailing for Daiyu
Daiyu examines herself again and again in her conversation with Baoyu repress reality reflect despair
Baoyu is extremely sad. He look at Daiyu's temporary memorial tablet as if he look at the last beam of light in his life, he is very close and finally left at the end of the story, we add a beam of light in the dark visitors can walkd in, look up, and turn away, we try to use this series of actions and paths to end the end of the interwoven love and hate

The industrial boom after World War II brought employment opportunities to many people, especially in Changchun No. 1 Automobile Plant. With the advent of the era of automation, the number of workers has plummeted, demand in the service industry has increased, and market demands have changed. However, workers who have worked their entire lives have been tightened by mechanized work. Their single action will not take the initiative to explore new things.
Social integration was first proposed by the French sociologist Durkheim, which refers to the process and result of combining different elements and parts of society into a unified and coordinated whole. So I want to use the idea of mechanical integration and organic integration to break the impact of age, road, and time on urban activities. To create a space for workers who can help solidify their minds to provide diversified life exploration and adapt to the advent of the era of big data.

In the west of the railroad track is mostly the activity place for the elderly, and the park is a frequent spot for the elderly. They chat and play chess inside, so they chose South Lake Park next to the old staff dormitory.
Old Staff Dormitory
Dormitory
The old staff dormitory of FAW is a semi-enclosed community. The houses have the highest five floors and are generally low-rise buildings. The enclosed yard allows everyone to have rich communication space, but the privacy space is weak.
Old Railway Station Redidential
The old FAW factory is now dominated by unused buildings. Most of the workers have moved to the new factory. The new factory is an automated factory and does not require many workers. The old factory has tracks inside, and now the railway is abandoned.
Most of the new residential areas are arranged. Compared with the old staff dormitories, the new residential areas have improved people's privacy, but lack of space for communication activities, and the neighborhoods are very strange.

Aiming at the design of the future campus——Future campus in the Internet age, more and more students are paying more attention to the closest self or the most distant large-scale world from them, and they are at one of these two extremes. The inter-part-campus life and group relations are hidden, and the "nearby" gradually disappears.
According to the regionality of the campus, this paper explores the history and culture, settlement and characteristics of different regions , abstractions the architectural form and spatial manipulation places the life form, interpersonal relationship mode and interaction between families in Korean folk houses into the space, recreates such a kind of life and spatial experience, recovers the "vanishing neighborhood", and also makes the architecture rooted in the local soil.
· Vanishing Vicinity
In the future campus in the Internet era, more and more students will pay more attention to the closest to themselves or the most distant large-scale world, while the part between the two extremes -- campus life and group relationship is hidden, and the "nearby" gradually disappears.
