10th Annual Hands On Event Will Pamper Breast Cancer Survivors at The Total Works SalonSpa Knoxville, TN- The 10th annual Hands On event will touch the lives of many breast cancer survivors at The Total Works SalonSpa on Monday, October 1, 2012, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. For a $60.00 donation, you can sponsor a breast cancer survivor who will be treated to her choice of any two of these salon services: facial, mini massage, hair cut, manicure, pedicure, make-up application. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Kim Rowden Breast Cancer Memorial Fund which is a non-profit fund that provides free breast screenings for women without insurance or financial resources. Appointments should be made in advance by calling 690-5654. Hands On, a special event to honor breast cancer survivors, is presented by The Total Works SalonSpa and Knoxville Comprehensive Breast Center. Other sponsors are Pilot Corporation, Women’s Health Specialists, All Occasions Party Rentals and South’s Finest Chocolates. Media sponsors are B97.5 and Knoxville News Sentinel. The Total Works staff is donating their time and other businesses are donating food, beverages and entertainment. Breakfast, lunch and champagne will be served to the ladies throughout the day. “Everyone at The Total Works Salon will pamper breast cancer survivors on their special day,” said Kelly Baker, founder of the event. “This is an opportunity for people to honor their family and friends who have been touched by breast cancer. Our goal is to raise money for the Kim Rowden Breast Cancer Memorial Fund, which provides free mammograms for women who can’t afford them.” Hands On was created in 2003 by Baker. She enlisted the help of her mother, Lesa Phillips Whitson, who co-owns The Total Works SalonSpa with Sonai Hylton, whose mother also died of breast cancer.
