STUDENT SNAPSHOTS “IDHA has given me valuable information about being prepared [as an ICRC] delegate or foreign employee in the humanitarian sector. It’s a point of view that highlights risks and how to mitigate them, and what you should consider in different countries. I was planning to apply and enroll in short missions in different contexts, and participate in providing support and help to the people in need. I hesitated, but now, after the IDHA, I’m going to do it.” - Wissam Sallakho, Logistician at the International Committee of the Red Cross
"I remember sitting clueless in the first syndicate assignment, wondering how this group of mixed people, thoughts, [and] experiences would produce a cohesive quality work. By the end of the month, I knew how mistaken I was, and that I had a lot to learn from my colleagues. Not only that, but I also developed lifetime friendships and a professional network.” - Mohamed Elshabik, Under Secretary for the Ministry of Social Development for the Republic of Sudan
“IDHA is an opportunity [for participants] to learn so much about the humanitarian sector; more than what they thought they knew in terms of the mandate of different organizations, and the history of major donors and organizations.” - Laura Lime, PriceWaterhouseCooper Audit and Assurance — Public Sector and Government Department
STUDENT SNAPSHOTS “IDHA is a real ingredient for the growth in the humanitarian career as it provides one with a general overview of the entire humanitarian system and holistic organizational view. It is also as far as I am concerned the only course that brings about a balance of academics and practical experience from hands-on lectures and practitioners.” - Elijah Manyok, CEO & Founder of Smile Again Africa Development Organization
“The discussions we have in class and the different perspectives the students bring to class is an inspiration to me and keeps my feet on the ground.” - Martine van der Does, Senior Humanitarian Advisor within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, Department for Stabilisation and Humanitarian Aid
“Because [the IDHA] is an academic training that organizes everything we already know in the field of humanitarian action…after the training and obtaining an IDHA, we are better equipped to work as humanitarians… even in meetings and other debates on humanitarian action we speak confidently and as experts.” - Boukary Gambo, Deputy Program Operations Director at Save the Children International
