Creating a new Revolution The Rural Development and Social Welfare Society is involved in working with 400+ SHGs and 2000+ farmers across the belt of Assam. Their main objective involves training farmers on dairy farming and to integrate it into their daily value chain ecosystem. Assam is a milk deficit state where the demand for quality milk is latent but the necessary pre-conditions to have a functional milk economy is not met. RDSWS's main objective is to improve the net income of farmers in the North East region and concentrate on the demand for quality milk in the state. In the past one year RDSWS has successfully developed a strong team who have undergone training at BAIF, Pune and who are now equipped to provide dairy training to small and marginal dairy farmers in Assam. The society is also involved in creating market linkages through private parties. These private parties in return will purchase milk and carry out a value-added processing.
