ARTIST STATEMENT. My passion is to understand. Passion to understand gives me possibility to ask questions. Questions ALWAYS takes me to a trip to new knowledge and new solutions. When we talk about work, this passion serves me well. Every project forms itself through the communication. I’m not simply interested in creating things that fits the ideal. I’m interested in creating solutions that serve individual questions of individual people / topics. I’m interested in timelessness inside every solution. My work is not based on imaginative clowd castels. My work IS based on function, ideas, needs, definitions and preferences.

Visual Identity project made for a photographer/filmer/designer living in France. He is filming mostly extreme sports. His personal life is filled with different boarding hobbies as well as other sports.

Inspiration for the design comes from the natural shapes / mountains surrounding the person. Elements were chosen according to his intrests. Logotype is flexible and complex to support the fact that the person is capable to deliver lots of different materials. He has a wide experience on several medi-

as. Graphical shapes gives a feeling of corners, speed, climbing, mountains and outdoors. This is what the person represents. Done in the Visual Identity studio, With the help of Wojtek Janicki, University of Arts in Poznan, 2014.

Visual Identity design project for a town part called Jezyce. Made in a four students group. Idea for the design was to create fresh and modern identity for a part of the town that is already crowing it’s popularity among the young talented people like artists, architects, designers. Projects in-

cluded possibilities like a weekly newspaper about the local events and people, a special card that would give you some discount benefits in the local stores. and other interesting ideas. Designed under the supervisor of Wojtek Janicki, Visual Identity studio, University of Arts Poznan, 2013.

PA C K A G I N G PROJECTS CREATED FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES, IN THE STUDIO OF PACKAGING / PROF. KRZYSZTOF KWIATKOWSKI, UNIVERSITY OF ARTS IN POZNAN.

Packaging Project for a possible french bakery. Idea of the project was to create a packaging that would be easy to use, made from a material that could cover the baguette from possible folding. Packaging should be printed on a minimum 300 g paper to give a proper protection for the paguette. Outlook of the packaging provokes it to be used several times as a cover for your home bread or as a fancier packaging for the picnic / home parties.2014.

Pick

a broken tube on a bike). Idea came as a personal need of a patch kit product that could be attached to a bike so that it would be effortlessly with you.

tion for a hanging packaging, that would be on a easy display on shops. This is the result. Easy simple Graphics gives a hint how the actual product could be used. 2014.

PATCH KIT ALWAYS WITH YOU.

TO TO S.

HERE IS a packaging projects created for a specific issue. The bicycle company has a problem of receiving badly packed bikes from the dealers. This creates unnessessary shiping marks that takes unfortunate amount off from the possible selling prices. I created graphics possible to be printed on the boxes where these high quality bikes are packed into. This introduction shows how exactly and where you should cover the bike to avoid scratching. Printing this extra information might save load of money, since the bikes will be better

taken care of and wont need such big discount from the sellers. Note that the company makes valuable bikes that are used on extreme sports, so it is rather less amount of money spent on printing a little more information on the boxes, compared to the money lost when discount is needed.2014.

1. Unattach the front wheel and place a piece of cartboard between the wheel and the disk break.

2. Keep fork attached to the bike and give it a proper cover around. Give a good protection for the down side of the fork to avoid possible holes to appear on the carton box .

Unattach the handelbar WITHOUT taking o the brakes. Give it a nice wrapping around as well to cover the metal areas and the brakes.

Premium Finnish Beer

6 X500 ml BOTTLES 4,6% ale. / VOI. BEER

Packaging project for a finnish beer brand. Idea for project came from the Kalevala, which is a 19th-century work of epic poetry compiled by Elias Lönnrot from Karelian and Finnish oral folklore and mythology.According to those epics, beer is made from a combination of subject, one of them being bear spit. This beer company happens to have a name

“karhu”, which in fact mean bear in Finnish. With that in mind, was this project born. Pattern is created with natures green objects and forest in mind, wooden box chosen for the sake of many forests in Finland. Packaging is clean to create a calm, forest like simplified feeling. 2013.

FUTURE SHORTS SECRETS OF DHAULAGIRI

ARC

ESTONIA, NEPAL AND PORTUGAL

THE VARIOUS FORMS OF ANIMATION

Nepalese cinema is rarely seen in Finland. Tampere Film OF DH AU LAGIRIa unique chance to explore the present of this Festival provides materially poor but culturally rich country. The emphasis is on the documentaries that deal with collisions between ancient traditions and the modern world. The programme includes such films as Struggle Within (2009), a documentary on Nepalese sexual and gender minorities fighting against work and labour related discrimination and Twisim... a Reality Not Far Away (2008), a documentary depicting life in the modernizing Nepalese countryside. Secrets of Dhaulagiri (2011) and Journey to Jarsa (2011) explore life in the lap of the Himalayas where ancient traditions and beliefs still obstain. The Sari Soldiers (2008) is a feature-lenght documentary that was filmed during the most crucial time in Nepal’s modern history. It is a story of six women’s courageous efforts to shape Nepal’s future in the midst of a civil war.

The screenings of the multi-award-winning Hungarian, Ferenc Cako, are pure fireworks of animation. The first screening introduces Cako’s early films such as Ashes (1994), a sand animation that won the Golden Bear in Berlin. The second screening’s clay animation The Fox and the Raven (2003) is an exhilarating adaptation of the well-known folk tale. Puppet animation is also represented: in the dreamlike Face (2007) the people start a revolt against the bureaucratic apparatus that tries to deny individuality. Cako will arrive in Tampere, and the screenings begin with a special show, in which his live drawing with sand is projected on screen.

Tampere Film Festival celebrates the 100-year old Estonian cinema by five screenings. Besides recent short films, there are two screenings featuring older films mainly from the 60’s. The short documentary 511 Best Photos of March (1968) by Andres Saat peeks at Tallinn’s coffee house culture in the 60’s. The compilation of Estonian commercials is bewildering, since they often advertised things that could not be found in the stores. Mait Laas’ feature-length documentary The Kings of Time (2008) reaches to the 50’s when two Estonian men started playing with puppets. Those men were Elbert Tuganov and Heino Pars. The Portugal programme includes animation and fiction films from recent years. Portugal 1 leads us to the streets, trams and suburbs of the city. Arena (2009), a Palme d’Or winner, is also included. The pearls of Portugal 2 are Jose Miguel Ribeiro’s animated delights Journey to Cabo Verde (2010), SundayDrive (2009) and Wind’s Embrace (2004).

In Germany, animated films have reflected political developments since the art form was born. Anit Prop programme illustrates how both governing groups and opposition movements have used animated propaganda. The first screening consists of works from the beginning of the 20th century. The second screening includes films from the 50’s to the present. The programme is curated and introduced by Ulrich Wegenast, the artistic director of Stuttgart International Animated Film Festival. The Good Stuff screening by AV-arkki, the Distribution Centre for Finnish Media Art, serves some extra goodies for animation lovers. The screening includes, amongst others, Spellbound (2008) and Private Dancers (2008) by Petra Innanen, Aquarium (2011) by Pirjetta Brander and Masa (2009) by Anssi Kasitonni. Additionally, animation can also be seen in two art galleries. Gallery Rajatila exhibits AV-arkki’s masterpieces, and FestArt: Animoi! exhibition by Animaation Apupyora in TR1 concentrates on the relationship between animation and art.

Inspiration means literally, ”to breathe in and be filled with spirit of the gods”. The gods were the muses of ancient Greece. Greek myth explained that all creativity came from the gods and that mortals (that’s us) can only receive somewhat imperfect copies of the originals.

Let us take one famous example: Newton sits under the apple tree. An apple falls and hits him on the head. He suddenly becomes excited and full of energy as an idea for the theory of gravity comes to him and he writes it down in his notebook.

P SI N I N SP I R R

In this story, the apple can be called an inspiration as it caused the enthusiasm and the sudden idea. The sudden idea is an inspiration and so is his state of enthusiasm. Inspiration is that feelings which make you chase your dreams. It is being in a state of mind where everything is possible, everything is clear. Inspirations is about finding something else that is inspiring (amazing ideas, people, nature), having that inspiration breathed into you and then taking action on it. Creating, doing, and inspiring others to ACTION. To understand what inspiration truly is, just step out of your own way. Do not allow your own inspiration to get blocked with excuses. Believe…that you have something important to contribute, and then take action and start doing it. The inspiration will follow. If you wait to be inspired before you take action, you may find that you are not taking much action. Try getting started on something, and trust that the inspiration will follow.

[Greenhalgh] was asked to design a magazine, which he said he could do. He came up to the college and said, ‘I’ve got to do a magazine. Can you help me?’ Later, we thought up a name and set up a studio in Soho. Greenhalgh always wanted to do film things, so he eventually ended up doing pop

Jay consistently asks: Who do you hire? How do you maintain the most interesting and skilled people in your company? He notes, “I want to bring in the most skilled, of course, but I also want the most interesting people who lead the most interesting lives—people who bring something into the office besides just focusing on a typeface.” If you go to the fourth floor of Wieden+Kennedy’s office in Tokyo, you will find a studio full of

Eventually he also set up Why Not Films to produce the pop videos, and we had two companies, Why Not Associates and Why Not Films.” Why Not Associates is not a business that works in any traditional, hierarchical system. When a job comes in, it is usually fronted by one of the partners. He goes to meet the client, decides who is free or who is best suited to that particular project, and then works with the client and sorts out some ideas. One of the partners takes the lead, and the rest of the office collaborates on it. Some other jobs might be done by only one person. All the ideas get aired in the office, and everyone at

Jay notes, “It all started with asking, what kind of people that an agency would need ‘cool hunters’ or researchers is just kind of proof that you don’t know what is going on.” Wieden+Kennedy, Tokyo, has two DJs on staff, including one whose DJ career competes with his ad agency career. Why Not gets a say in the project. “Is it any sharing is a vital ingredient to the creative life of the office. “I couldn’t work on my own,” just one point of contact, which makes it easier for them. And inspiration in another context.

DARWIN grasped the philosophical bleakness with his characteristic courage. He argued that hope and morality cannot, and should not, be passively read in the construction of nature. Aesthetic and moral truths, as human concepts, must be shaped in human terms, not “discovered” in nature. We must formulate these answers for ourselves and then approach nature as a partner who can answer other kinds of questions for us—questions about the factual state of the universe, not about the meaning of human life. If we grant nature the independence of her own domain—her answers unframed in human terms—then we can grasp her exquisite beauty in a free and humble way. For then we become liberated to approach nature without the burden of an inappropriate and impossible quest for moral messages to assuage our hopes and fears. We can pay our proper respect to nature’s independence and read her own ways as beauty or INSPIRATION in our different terms. Stephen Jay, Gould I Have Landed (2002)

Meditation is a faculty; INSPIRATION is a gift. All men, to a certain degree, can meditate; very few are INSPIRED. Spiritus flat ubi vult. doubtless, that INSPIRATION is born only of meditation. Among the Jews, the people whose history is so rich in mysterious symbols when the priest had built the altar, he lighted upon it an earthly flame -- and it was then only that the divine ray descended from Heaven. IF you’re going to make a living at this business - more importantly, if you’re going to write anything that will last - you have to realise that a lot of the time, you’re going to be writing without INSPIRATION. without it as with. Of course, you write less readily and fluently without it; but the interesting thing is to look at the private journals and letters of great writers and see how much of the time they just had to do without INSPIRATION. Conrad, for example, groaned at the desperate emptiness of the pages he faced; and yet he managed to cover them. Amateurs think that if they were INSPIRED all the time, they could be professionals. Project made for the bicycle company. They ordered two catalogues to make an inventory of all bikes they have in the storage of the bike store. IN the store they are selling new bikes, but on the storage area they have older, used / testbikes that they want to sell as well but not give store space to them.

My work was to make the inventory of the bikes by photographing them, making a list of them and putting it all together into twho catalogues. Two catalogues since in the back there are two rooms where bikes are storaged. Both catalogues are being used on ipad as a sales support. on the ipad customers can scroll for optional bikes and order the empoyees to get the bike from the storage to see.

Czy wybralbys tę opcję, jeśli dano by Ci szansę decydowania? Zgodnie z ostatnim projektem ustawy o odnawialnych źródłach energii, każdy z nas będzie mógł produkować prąd w przydomowych elektrowniach. Będziemy też mogli oddawać nadwyżki energii elektrycznej do sieci bez zbędnych pozwoleń i biurokratycznej udręki. Dokument ten jest gotowy i czeka na ruch ze strony wicepremiera Janusza Piechocińskiego oraz premiera Donalda Tuska.

Project for Greenpeace. Idea for the project came from a random young man who I used to stumble upon daily. He was working for a Greenpeace as field manager and was always very friendly. I admired his har work and high spirit so I once stopped to chat with him about Greenpeace and asked about their subjects. I wanted to make a series of posters that would be based on their main issues. They were, project against GMO food, Old ancient forest in eastern Poland that they want to preserve and project against heating with cole.
