May 2018 Dear It Is Written Friend, It wasn’t long ago that a certain eight-acre plot of ground in Collegedale, Tennessee was covered in tall trees. While there are still stately pines gracing the area, the ground now looks more like a building site than a forest, with excavating equipment busy at work. Five months after we broke ground for the new It Is Written ministry center, we are seeing the progress that we have been hoping, planning, and praying about for years. Over the past few months, you have seen plans for the ministry headquarters with pictures of the land and architectural drawings. Now it’s really happening — thanks to your support. In fact, you can watch it happening on a video on our website at www.itiswritten.build. Our goal has been to keep costs low, build debt-free, and continue our current evangelism mission projects. In other words, we are raising our usual annual budget for evangelism, media, and humanitarian projects PLUS the funds needed to build a building. While it’s a lot less expensive to build in Tennessee than it would have been had we remained in California, construction costs are still significant. We’ve learned that site work will cost more than anticipated and the cost of building materials has increased considerably in recent months. Our goal for a fully operational and equipped headquarters is $11,000,000. I’m extremely thankful that to date $7,015,136 has been received or pledged for this nearly 50,000 square foot building. One miracle after another has led us to where we are today. City permits that didn’t appear possible have come through, and the land — earmarked for a church-run hospital many years ago — will very soon be used to reach the sin-sick heart for Jesus Christ. The It Is Written of tomorrow is almost the It Is Written of today! Right now, we’re able to offer a special matching gift opportunity.
