NEW CONSTRUCTION
PRIMARY SCHOOL Jerusalén de Miñaro, Perú
2016/2017 with Semillas
During this 1-year experience abroad working for Semillas my main responsibilities were related to the construction of the Primary School in Jerusalén de Miñaro. In particular, I was in charge of leading the construction of the school sitting in a native community in the Peruvian rainforest. I had to deal with all the construction aspects: construction site management, supplier coordination, logistic and architectural detailed drawings. The plan includes eight classrooms, a multipurpose area with kitchen, two storage rooms, one media lab, and toilets for disabled students and teachers. The classrooms are organized into blocks, which have large covered patios suitable as both teaching and recreational spaces. The building is connected by a covered path, planned for use as a meeting and functional space, making it an extension of the plan. The vegetation and trees found on the lot are integrated with and form part of the design. In the multipurpose block, for example, a tree marks the school’s main entryway but is also part of the inner space. On the north side, a row of trees line the blocks’ facades, resulting in indirect sunlight and shade for the connecting hallways. The skylight system and the large amount of windows provide transpiration and cross ventilation needed. The school has a rainwater collection system.

REQUALIFICATION
PRIVATE HOUSE Altamura, Italy
2016 Independent work
A
A’
This requalification work transformed a single ancient house into two independent apartments sharing the common main entrance and staircase. The most challenging aspect of this project was the establishment of a kitchen and a bathroom on both floors, while keeping the structure of the building as much close to the original as possible. As this was my first independent work, I was responsible for all the phases of the project: from from the initial sketches to the detail drawings, I also had to choose the materials and Section AA’
take care of the interior finishes and fittings.

REQUALIFICATION/CHANGE USE
NEW HOTEL IN PIAZZA REPUBBLICA Rome, Italy
2016 with DiGiuseppe e Massimi Architects
This is a proposal for the requalification and change of intended use of an historical building in a central and historical square in Rome. The main challenge about this project was to fit all the rooms requested by the client (each one with an en-suite bathroom) without altering the structure of the building. I realized the general plan with all the uses required by the customer, dividing the space in 23 double rooms and several common spaces (i.e. restaurant/bar, lobby and meeting room).
REQUALIFICATION
PRIVATE HOUSE Altamura, Italy
2015 with LG Architects
In this requalification work, the main request of the client was a large and wide living room. For this reason, one of the balcony was transformed into a small indoor garden with a green natural wall and gravel floor. In this project I realized the detailed architectural drawings of the indoor garden and the bathroom, I coordinated with the carpenters for the realization of a wooden boiserie and I took part in all the meeting with the client.

Thesis work 2014 Honorable mention in sustainability
The idea of focusing on this particular building was conjured up by the participation in the International Architecture bada

(2014).
The good result achieved, the Honoable Mention in Sustainability, encouraged my colleague and me to develop in a more detailed way all the general ideas presented in the competition.
In particular, the suggested renovation is completely based on sustainable solutions, from the construction aspects, to the social and economic ones. The original market use is maintained and new functions are integrated, to gain advantage from the oversize of the building and cope with all the needs of the surrounding area.
WORKSHOP
NEW CONSTRUCTION
PLAYGROUND PARQUE BAMBÚ Jerusalén de Miñaro, Perú
2017 with Semillas
PARQUEBAMBU has been developed in parallel with the construction of Jerusalen de MiĂąaro primary school, through a design and construction workshop, being the result of the collective work of the participants and the community. This workshop lasted ten day and aimed at building a playground for children made of bamboo stalks, in order to promote the use of this material in the native community of the Peruvian central amazon rainforest. I took part in the construction phases and I also was responsible for organising and coordinating the logistic of this workshop, by welcoming students and professors from all over the world.
The park consists of two modules: in both, vertical sticks recall the native game “palo resbaloso”, a competition consisting of climbing a tree trunk. Other bamboos join diagonally the vertical sticks reinforcing the structure and tying it unitarily, forming “multipurpose ladders” in twisted spiral. In addition, the second module is characterized by three platforms that provide shaded and rest spaces. Used materials are bamboo canes, palm leaves for the cover and the bark of a tree called sachahuasca for moorings. Big stones, previously found in the terrain, were used for foundations.

NEW CONSTRUCTION
MAKE IT WOOD AND STRAW Monopoli, Italy
2014 with ECOfucina
Construction of a house implementation block -- whose main structure is made of wood -- and straw bale for the cladding system. This workshop was organized to promote the use of this material in the house building, due to its high insulating capability. During this 3-day workshop, I helped welcoming students and professionals from different cities.
