The Moms Association was formed in 1923 and is believed to be the first Moms Association in the country. Its purpose is promoting the welfare and interest of the university and its students through services and open communication on campus and throughout the state. The association is philanthropic in nature, using its proceeds to support Illinois students. Through sales of the Association’s merchandise and tickets for Moms Weekend, the

Association raises money for scholarships and grants for Illinois students. The UI Moms Association is made up of committed volunteers that are mothers, grandmothers, aunts, sisters, and mom figures of U of I students at Urbana-Champaign.
