Portfolio Illustramira

Hi there! My name is Martina, I was born in Florence in 1992 but I grew up in a small village on the Appennino Tosco-Emiliano, Italy. Although Art has always been one of my greatest interests, I got into illustration quite late, after a degree in Languages, Cultures and Societies of Asia and North Africa and a few years spent travelling, with the final decision of moving to Shrewsbury, UK. I am passionate of nature, animals, black coffee and good books, but most of all I love working together with creative people, sharing thoughts, ideas and different perspectives. I consider illustration as a powerful tool for communicating emotions, digging into your deepest self. We’ve all got so much beauty inside!

Enjoy the journey!

From the picture book project “Hungry”

“Hungry” is a picture book project which explores the concept of hunger as an emotional condition, rather than a physical one.

What the main character is really craving for is not a full stomach but a Life full of significant relationships, moments of joy and excitement, in connection with the world, here and now.
