The Master of Science in Planning at The University of Arizona is fully accredited by the Planning Accreditation Board and offers a range of concentrations that prepare students to excel in the growing and very important profession of Planning.
The Planning Program at the University of Arizona is located an hour and half to the Mexican border and within close proximity to the regional center of Phoenix, natural living laboratories, and the Tohono O’odham Indian Tribe, the second largest Native American tribe (in land area). Our location contributes to our dynamic masters curriculum, providing our students with rich experiences that include a planning projects class and an internship. Our mission is to prepare planning practitioners who are generalists with a specialization. Specializations include:

In the past year our Planning program has returned to the College of Architecture and Landscape Architecture to form the School of Landscape Architecture and Planning. This merger presents exciting opportunities for collaboration. The School of Landscape Architecture and Planning at the University of Arizona offers a unique combination of individualized attention, access to international research opportunities, and interdisciplinary course offerings. We believe that the planning profession is multi-dimensional and as such, at the University of Arizona we prepare our students with the tools to succeed in complex environments.

In addition students have to option to pursue a dual MS in Planning and MBA degree through our cooperation with the nationally ranked Eller School of Management. An executive Master of Responsible Real Estate Development degree is also available through collaboration with the Eller School of Management.

The planning program reflects its physical context, addressing the contemporary challenges that face the Southwest. Courses and research projects often involve developing unique solutions to address water, energy, border, and cultural issues that face a diverse demography.
