“Design is my being. It is the material translation of my personality. The shape I create is an extension of my body, where a part of my soul lives. To design is filling a void by means of sleek, pure lines and shapes, often inspired by nature and graphic design.”

The preferred material used by Ilona is clay. In spite of the fact that it is a willful material to work with, it is also pure and natural. Therefore, she chooses to present her creations raw or rather nude, to reveal their soul, without glaze or decoration, which are only leading the attention away from the shape and which would (and can) turn them into tableware. Casting is the major technique used. This results in repetitive production and small scale installations. Presented in an installation, the objects evoke an organic and dynamic feeling. They breathe an atmosphere of serenity. Where shadow and light bring the collection to life. Where lines and shapes conduct the rhythm. Where purity and simplicity rule. ‘Dare la luce’ (giving birth, giving light), is her goal. Touching people by the purity and soberness of her designs. Creating something that is beautiful to the mind and eye and that can be funcional at the same time.

PRESENTATION Š ILONA VAN DEN BERGH

Description: three legged stool/sidetable and six legged bench While designing the tableware collection ONA, the desire grew to work also with materials other than clay. Thus arose a little furniture collection: a tripod stool / side table and a six-legged bench. To combine in a playful way. Again, the simplicity and purity of the design catch the eye. Technical file is available for production.
