Lauritzen Kosan A/S tradition of transporting liquefied petroleum gas goes back to the infancy of the industry. Lauritzen Kosan constructed the world’s first purpose built LPG-carrier in 1951. Today the company is primarily involved in transporting petro-chemical gases used in the production of plastic globally. The gases carried are high specification, volatile and requires expert handling and attention to details. Lauritzen Kosan and its partners control 40 gas carriers of which Lauritzen Kosan owns 18. Presently 12 vessels are under construction for delivery within the next 2 years. While headquartered in Copenhagen the company has activities in Shanghai, Hong Kong and Bilbao and employs about 350 people at sea and ashore.
