Invitation: District Energy Climate Summit Copenhagen 3rd November

September 2009

Dear Colleague, On behalf of the representative organisations of the district energy sector, it is our pleasure to invite you to attend the first District Energy Climate Summit to be held on the 3rd of November 2009 in Copenhagen. As the world looks ahead to the goal of a new global climate change agreement in December 2009, our minds are focused on what needs to be achieved. It is a critical time for us in the DHC sector to demonstrate how District Heating and Cooling can play a key role in the new climate change agreement. We know that DHC offers the toolbox to enable cities to achieve their climate change targets. The summit will present and explain how more DHC can result in tremendous CO2 savings to policy makers: convincing them of the advantages of turning to our technology. Through a day of debates and discussion we intend to explore the benefits of DHC. International speakers will contribute their knowledge of best practice and their experience with this energy form. The summit will provide a unique opportunity for communication between proponents of DHC and those with the influence and clout to make its benefits reality: the policy and decision makers. We are seeking policy recognition of district heating and cooling that will ensure continuing investment and growth of our sector. We are convinced that your contribution will be of great importance for the success of the summit. Attendance is by invitation only, please respond to this invitation by compiling the enclosed registration form, which includes details of the summit fee and location hotel, and faxing it to +45 7552 8962. Looking forward to seeing you in Copenhagen, Yours sincerely,
