The highly anticipated Military Weekend celebration in December 2022 hosted by Westgate Resorts and Westgate Foundation brought back guest favorites and introduced new ones during the three-day weekend. This year marked the 11th annual event and 1,000 active duty, veteran and Gold Star military families arrived to find Westgate Vacation Villas & Town Center Resort decked out in its wintry finest.

Santa, Mrs. Claus and even the Grinch paid a special visit while carolers serenaded families as they checked into the event on Friday and made their way through a festive resource fair. The evening closed out with a high-energy concert-style musical tribute by the award-winning Soul of Motown straight from the Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino.

Following the annual 5K around the resort on Saturday morning, families got to burn off excess energy at Field Day where activities, dancing and wondrous tricks by Las Vegas Headlining Magician Jen Kramer were the name of the game.

A historic vehicle display, tank demonstration and a traveling Vietnam and 9-11 Memorial Wall provided a glimpse of the past and offered tribute to the nation’s fallen heroes.

Saturday evening, Westgate Foundation distributed $50,000 in grants to five military nonprofits in Central Florida, including American Gold Star Mothers, Brian Bill Foundation, 22Zero, WW2 Armor and McCormick Research Institute. Bringing Saturday to a close, Nashville favorite Chris Weaver Band got everyone singing along and ended with a dynamic firework show.
