Resilience /rɪˈzɪlɪəns/ noun the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties; toughness. /the ability of a substance or object to spring back into shape; elasticity. Resilience was named the buzz word of the year by Time Magazine (Pike, C. 2013) .In these contexts resilience is often mistaken for preparedness, but resilience is not just about being efficient and capable of dealing with problems although being organized with the essentials will help to mitigate the effects of disasters on communities to a great extent. The process of alteration and transformation in the notion of resilience through the lens of the way in which trauma effects our knowledge of resilience . This is demonstrate in the writting of Craig and Ozga-Lawn, ‘While the trauma may not change the object as such, knowledge of trauma is often to alter it’( Craig and Ozga-Lawn,2012).
