ARCHITECTURAL COMPETITIONS
Experimenting and exploring is the way forward in life and in architecture. I feel there is always a need to change and adapt as change is the only constant. “The problem with planing is that, by the time the vision is realized the concept on which the vision began would have changed”. So therefore for me designing and planning are everlasting processes that only stop when the designer wants them to but never end.

NARRATIVE What do the users need? Referring to Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, the users of this site look for a community based living where all their basic physiological needs of food, water, and shelter can be met without burning a hole through their pocket since financial stability is of utmost importance to them. A model can be proposed where different types of users can be created so that they can support each other. A typology where the owners and the workers live together. Inclusivity and Exclusivity Spaces such as public bazaars, street food stalls, and markets can be provided in the habitat. These are free from man-made human class barriers and can promote an healthy exclusive environment. The Aim. Taking cues from the site context, the major portion of the habitat would cater to the people around the industrial mill area. These can be both the workers and the owners. Furthermore, the mill area is a centrally located site in Indore is as much in interest for the more financially stable as it is for the mill workers. Hence, the provision of larger housing for these users would also help in creating a symbiotic relationship between the users. The proposed habitat would fulfil all the basic requirements of the users. Multiple employment opportunities would be created within the habitat where one group supports the other in different ways.
A serene walk through the greens of the site

Terrace gardens are provided to encourage user interaction so that it is not just limited to the ground level but also on every floor of the building. These spaces can also be used as common gathering spaces for day to day events such as for movies or sports screenings, discussion centres or can be used to play games.
Almost equal in volume, the voids act as niches of relief from the otherwise built units. In time, these voids and terraces would form the basis of a strong community living while completely being in sync with the existing living lifestyle of Indore.

By including terraces and greens extensively both on the site and on the built structure, the design allows all user groups to engage with the environment. Therefore, it creates a lasting relationship between nature and mankind making the project Ecologically sustainable.

Idea of Steel Framework
STRUCTURAL FRAMEWORK
For such a form, the construction would be done in steel with steel I-section beams running across the floor plate forming a mesh to hold the structure. The walls of the units would be made of prefabricated concrete walls and units would be assembled on site. Along with the steel framework, steel box columns would transfer the load from the floor above to the floor below.
There would be three types of columns

An inclusive approach towards design allowing social integration of all classes of people living on the site. With no boundaries between zones, the site is equally accessible and unbiased towards all user groups making it socially feasible.
The unique design offers such terraces for one to enjoy a lazy Sunday afternoon.
Serene and shaded walkways provided for a better experience allover the site.

The built also comprises of a bustling commercial hub designed to cater the inhabitants of ‘INTERSTACKED’ and the people of Indore. The commercial hub consists of both permanent and temporary hawker based shops reflecting Indore’s prevalent night bazaar type commercial.
Such a Dynamic commercial hub will invite the city into the site and help the project establish itself as an icon in Indore.

Located In Connaught place, which is the heart of new Delhi. The wash room cum library has the potential to be replicated in each block of Connaught Place and similar urban scenarios as a new typology of public wash rooms which are more interactive and useful.

Intention. The concept revolves around conceiving the whole building as a street furniture having a primary function of a public wash room incorporating a library with a lot of outdoor seating. Such a structure presents the opportunity for the people to interact with the building. The seats are a part of the design itself. This enables people to have a rest spot in a Crowded marketplace. The privacy of the wash room and the public Nature of the open library don’t disturb each other, while Enabling people to avail an opportunity to exchange books As well as ideas, and helps people gain a new perspective to a public wash room and the potential it holds.
Plan The interactive nature of the Library can be seen with the open and welcoming folds of the structure.

SOLILOQUY OF A TREE. Desining a tree house 2021 Volume Zero Competitions
' S O L I L O Q U Y ' is an act of speaking one's thoughts aloud when by oneself or regardless of any hearers. It is a term used usually by people performing a play. Building a tree house is something similar to this act of speaking to oneself. The essence of a tree house should be such that the built shall almost be an extension to the tree itself and convey the tree's thoughts.
Location: RISHIKESH

The design model is very similar to the tiny house concept that is space saving furniture like mini fridge, compost waterless toilets and minimum storage space are the key features. Place and similar urban scenarios as a new typology of public wash rooms which are more interactive and useful.

Designing in the hills is always challenging with this project we had to come up with a unique way of casting the columns for which we had to carefully design the shuttering boards as well such that they can be reused.

Year 2020 Semester 7 Hybrid Building Studio
BIFROST Studio Guides: Ar. Puneet Khanna and Ar. Madhur Prakash. Co-Designed with Shrey Gupta BRIEF: Taking cues from the concept of temporal architecture and the well known example of the ‘walking city’ by Archigram, Bifrost sees itself as a conceptual futuristic hyper city where one building can perform all functions of a city through modules Which follow the Voronoi geometry.
Location: GURUGRAM
QR Code for a Walk through of the site.

Ideation Great cities all over the world have been defined by their public spaces. This painting (left) is an attempt to perceive the feeling of public spaces. One can call it a hot pot of all public activities. Which together are represented in the swirls and curls of this painting.
Programmatic Mix The diagram (left) shows the various functions and their placements throughout the building depicting their relationship with each other with the hot pot of public spaces behind it.
Conceptual Sketches
Approach Voronoi pattern is repeatedly used in nature to create everlasting designs. The same can be used to create a building which has the capability to grow when the need arises. Making the building more responsive and interactive just like a tree which is home to smaller creatures.

Framing Rods
Socket Ball
Tightening Threads
The complete frame of the building is an assembly of a ball and socket joint
Socket Piston
Just like the ball and socket joint In the human body. These sockets will be able to move around the ball freely.
Cavities for the teeth to lock in.
These rods will go inside the sockets like a screw hence making the assembly Easier.
The Ball and socket joint.
Locking teeth
As the rod is tightened in the socket it pushes the piston inside.
As the piston is pushed in the locking. Teeth fill in the cavity locking the rod firmly into place.
Representation of the connected capsules to through the ball and Socket joint.
A prototype of the fenestrations and wall systems required.
Compartmentalization of the unit in accordance with the Voronoi pattern.
Plantation cage, positioned all around the Voronoi frame.
