Welcome
This is the first edition of a new magazine by IMAD Scotland Group. Initially the magazine is an online digital version however eventually we hope to distribute a printed version. The layout and format of the magazine will be fairly basic initially however we hope over time to develop this into a larger, more detailed publication. The general substance and content of the magazine will be similar to that of IMAD Scotland Group websites, media and social media: i.e. covering all things Scottish...events, culture, news, politics, sport, tourism etc Our principal aim is to feature major national interest items, including areas such as tourism and culture in particular. We follow and share a lot of information from major Scottish organisations such as Visit Scotland, The National Trust Scotland and Historic Scotland for example. We also try to collate a wide range of Scottish Media on our Facebook and Twitter feeds. IMAD Scotland Group currently has 11 websites and over 30 social media accounts. IMAD Scotland Group is a growing organisation which aims to expand long term into hopefully a national media organisation. In addition we have a number of years experience of providing internet based support services to companies from all over Scotland. These services include social media marketing and support, internet marketing, design and print, website design and website support, business advertising and promotion, as well as search optimisation. We also have a number of in-house regional websites including Edinburgh, the Borders, Glasgow, Stirlingshire and Lanarkshire. We aim eventually to increase these scotland wide. Additionally our main Imad Scotland Group website and social media outlets cover all of Scotland for information and media purposes. We are proud to be a Scottish company and actively share its culture online. Our aim is to highlight the profile of Scotland and increase its media diversity. Scotland is a country with a rich history, culture and stunning geography, which is known and held in high regard worldwide. We know there is plenty to share and develop. Scotland is a beautiful & bouyant nationand its media should reflect this.

Andy Murray wins 2nd Wimbledon Championship After his second win at Wimbledon Andy Murray must now be high on the list of greatest Scottish Sports Stars. The debate about who is the greatest is open to interpretation and it is unfair to place one great sportsperson above another, however Murray must now be near the top echelons of our nation. Scotland has had some great sport stars such as Chris Hoy, Kenny Dalglish, Liz McColgan, Ken Buchanan etc and Andy Murray now ranks as high as any but is he now the greates? (We know there are many others obviously we didnt mention above) If you take any major sport it is very hard to maintain a top rank/profile over a long period of time. Only the very top sports stars maintain this. We are talking about the level of Federer, Usain Bolt, Messi & Ronaldo for example. Murray has now managed that level for a period of over 10 years. He has been in the top ten in the world almost continuously since 2008 and has also been in the top four for long periods in that time. No Scot has ever won Grand Slam Singles Tournaments, let alone been comptetitive at the top, indeed in a global sport such as tennis we frankly didn't register on the map previously. Things are changing though thanks to Any Murray and lets not forget his brother Jamie who has reached number 1 in world doubles. Andy Murray now has two Wimbledon titles to his name, plus a US Open title and an Olympic Gold Medal. That is quite a collection. He has made the finals of 11 Grand Slam events in total and he has been in the top four in the world in an era of arguably some of the greatest tennis players in mens singles history – namely Federer, Nadal and Djokovic. Murray seems to have a truly dedicated quest for success and anyone who has watched his career can see just how much he has put into his sport and he should be applauded for his achievements on a world stage. There are bigger countries around the world who have never had a tennis player at his level and we should revel in his success as a great Scottish Sports Star. Andy Murray Stats: Grand Slam Wins 3 Wimbledon 2013, 2016, US Open 2012 Finals: 11 As above + 2008 US Open, Wimbledon 2012 French Open 2016, Aus Open 2010 2011 2012 2015 2016 Olympic Gold London Olympics 2012 (Silver Medal Mixed Doubles 2012) Davis Cup Team Winner 2015 with GB Career Singles Finals: 58 Finals & 38 Titles 592 singles wins from 763 matches (78% win record) Website Link >> www.andymurray.com Wimbledon Report: Andy Murray wins Wimbledon by beating Milos Raonic >> www.bbc.co.uk/sport/tennis/36758518
Henrik Stenson wins The Open at Royal Troon Congratulations to Henrik Stenson on winning a superb Open after a dramatic last day tussle with America's Phil Mickelson. Stenson became the first man from Sweden to win a mens major title and in doing so he also registered a record open score total of –20 under par, eclipsing the previous best set by Tiger Woods. This years Open at Royal Toon was another great event in Scottish Golf to add to Scottish Sport's back catalogue. The weather over the last three days might not have been great but the golf was of a standard which has rarely been seen even in majors. Indeed, on two occasions during the week Stenson and Mickelson both came within a whisker of setting a record 62 shot tally for 18 holes, a number which has never been achieved in a major. There have been a fair number of 63's posted through time and both men equalled that figure after despairingly close attempts for the magical 62 on the 18th green. Phil Mickelson may well be wondering how on earth he did not win as his final round 65 would have won most majors for a final pairing on the last day. He does though already have a number of majors. His current total stands at five, having won the 2013 Open, three US Masters and one USPGA title. He is one of the few golfers who have won three majors and is a true great. This Open was to be Stenson's day and week though. His golf was truly world class from start to finish, and in setting a new 20 under par total for 72 holes over four days, he showed that this really was a historic victory up there with the best. This was also his first major title but he will no doubt believe that if he can replicate the same kind of form then he must be in with a chance of winning further top events. Royal Troon staged a fantastic tournament and along with St Andrews, Carnoustie & Turnberry it showcases Scotland and Scottish Golf to the world. Open championships rotate around the UK of course, but Scotland is still regarded as the home of golf. The next time the event will be held in Scotland is the 2018 Open Championship at Carnoustie. We look forward to it. My Scotland Feature Im Paul Donnachie (Manager and founder of IMAD Scotland Group) I have put this magazine together relatively quickly so its not a perfect format but I hope to develop it over time. I like to promote Scottish Items of interest and media so here's a small feature which i produced recently used Windows Live Movie Maker. It collates some of my favourite photos of all things Scottish with some background music. Im not an expert at this type of production but it's hopefully not too bad for a novice. This is also my first attempt at a magazine incidentally. All design and content text is by me. Paul Donnachie – My Scotland Click on image to play video on You Tube
