Testimonials “My concern for anyone with a limited timescale is that having two many initiatives can feel overwhelming and can lead to ‘burn out’ of the leading figures. Better to focus on what would work in a particular neighbourhood and what is realistically ‘do-able’ with the people resources available. I would advise communities to work with ImaginePlaces as Angela’s indomitable enthusiasm and energy really gets things done!” Maggy Meade-King, Chair Highgate Neighbourhood Forum

“Angela brings enthusiasm, professionalism and good humour to every task she turns her hand to. Her ideas are original and her lateral thinking helps to bring out the best from a diverse audience. She quickly became one of the 'team', and we look forward to working with ImaginePlaces again.” Fabian Sharp, Community Policy and Pratice at Paddington Development Trust/ Queen’s Park Community Council

“As Chair of Grove Park Community Group, it was my pleasure to have worked with Angela on the recent Prince’s Foundation Design Charrette for Grove Park. Without her talent, ideas, support and dedication it would not have been the success it has been.” Mr.S.F.Kenny, emerging Grove Park Neighbourhood Forum

“Angela has worked with the Prince’s Foundation team on several neighbourhood planning projects in large and diverse urban areas. Her enthusiasm, energy and expertise in urban design and innovative methods of community engagement have been invaluable for our team and highly praised by our clients.” Biljana Savic, Programme Manager, CLG Supporting Communities in Planning Programme, Prince’s Foundation for Building Community

“We found Angela’s engagement ideas inspiring and they encouraged the public to get involved. The local secondary school kids loved - ‘What’s your best idea to improve Bognor Regis’ and ‘If you were mayor of Bognor Regis, what would you do to make the area more attractive?’ using the DIY black boards. The three day design and planning workshop went very well. People felt included and part of the process. Angela is a great person to work with and always at the end of the phone!” Ruth Hambleton, Bognor Regis Neighbourhood Planning Frontrunner

“I was delighted that Angela was part of the team from The Prince’s Foundation for Building Community who came and worked with the community in St Albans to help us articulate design codes for areas ready for redevelopment in our city centre. This was a challenging task, given the existing built environment had evolved over many centuries in this historic city. Angela has the gift of reaching very quickly the heart of an area and understanding the people. With her experience, kind nature and sense of fun she soon helped many in the community who felt illequipped to express views on architecture develop the confidence to do so and rediscover latent talents to help with this exciting project. Through her expertise, with the aid of the rest of the team, she encouraged the community to co-author the final report. The draft design codes, informed by the people of St Albans, has been widely praised and is a testament to Angela’s personal abilities and integrity.” Vanessa Gregory, Community Project Manager Look! St Albans

“It was good to work with Angela; she’s very organised and structured, but flexible enough to go with the flow of the group on the day. Angela used some really interesting techniques to get people thinking, talking and working together, and handled any difficult moments or disputes well – a necessary skill. Angela also used an unusual way to display the outputs so everyone can see their individual and group outputs, and how they relate to the overall “common ground” findings drawn from the workshop. These findings have given us a really good basis for going forward with the various pieces of seafront work following the workshop” Caroline Gosford, Senior Regeneration Manager/ Project Manager, Bognor Regis Seafront Project, Economic Regeneration Team, Arun District Council “Thank you for putting your all in to last week and making the ‘Understanding Old Town’ engagement fun and interesting for contributors which meant that we achieved the objectives of gathering lots of local opinions on the area and also engaging people in discussions amongst themselves. Several colleagues who attended the Friday event have said how impressed with your design and management of the day. You created a great rapport with people so that they felt their opinion mattered and I really enjoyed working with you and learnt a lot.” Ruth Coulson, Project Manager Old Town Masterplan, Croydon Council’s Placemaking Team
