Art Gallery and Cafe This project is art galllery with cafe as it’s supporting fuction. Located in suburban contouring site with the unusual shaped of the site. The biggest challenge of this project was to create a fit-in-site massing due to many small angle corner and effective circulation due to the extreme contour that reach 10 meters differences

Performance Artists’s Villa and Workspace Brief of the project is about creating a secondary residence where the artist could stay for several days or weeks to work, practise, rehearsal, show and make arts. The housing consists of 2 bedrooms, a living room, and a kitchen with little bar while the working space consists of dance studios and supporting room, as the artist majoring in performance art, especially dance. The dance studio has the finest scenery which is mountain view and the house garden itself. Furthermore, the design try not to cut and fill the land too much so there’s some splitlevel floor in the house that also make a room boundary. Assignment

This project is an individual work of the final architecture design studio. The challenge of this project is to predict and plan the future development of Bandung Railway Station which expected to be a pilot project of TOD(Transit Oriented Development) in the city.

8Location Bandung is located at the meeting point of the main road axis of the Java Island, which is the central axis that connects the capital of Banten and Central Java, as well as the main link of the capital city and southern regional area. Based on this geographical position, the potential of tourism in Bandung is enormous, both for domestic and international tourists.

Introduction Stasiun Terpadu is an integrated station area located in the neighborhood of DAOP II (Daerah Operasional 2) Kebon Kawung Street Bandung, which is owned and managed by the state railway company, PT. Kereta Api Indonesia. This area was originally the northern part of the Bandung Railway Station that became the main station due to its use to accommodate the passengers from and to Bandung City as well as the availability of overnight vehicle parking service in the station. The existence of Stasiun Terpadu is anticipated to be able to answer the public’s need of acquiring a main transit place for transportation in Bandung City which will eventually promote mass transport as the city’s major mode of transportation.

Issues Among the busy activities in the Bandung Railway Station that are caused by the high frequency and substantial amount of arrivals and departures, trains transit is one of them. In this case, the passengers have to wait for two to three hours for the railway route transfer. This raises the demands of providing the passengers with additional facilities which are able to meet their needs such as accommodation, communication, entertainment, recreation facilities and many others. Beside the activity inside the station, the surrounding areas near the station have inadequate facilities and tend to be dirty; hence the presence of these facilities can also provide occupations for local residents.

Future Development The integrated station project area is a government project. This project is expected to be a pilot project for other mass transportation transit stations. The theme of this project that shows a linearity with futuristic concept can become the benchmark of city improvement and development.

1 2Design Approach

High Mobility Integrated station as one of TOD has a very high mobility rate. Circulation of the building also become a major concern of the building.

Fast The speed of either human and vehicle circulation and the efficiency of the design function are also major concern of the building. So a simple form is a perfect answer for this problem. Clock is put as a ‘fast’ mark and a station identity.

Support Function : Commercial Area ex : Retail (daily & souvenir) Food Stall Minor Stall, ect. Service

Linearity In addition to show the continuity of transportation especially for train and LRT, expression and sustainability of the linear elevation is reflected from the form of Bandung’s historical buildings. Art deco characteristic ( stream-line) and massive expression of the mass are also trying to remind people the history of the old station (south station) with its very strong in massive form, but in modern performance. Other reason, Bandung landscape is famous with its layered view, such as surrounded by mountains.

Futuristic This futuristic-looking building is easily recognized by the specific characteristics of very modern, compact and efficient form and expression that marked with curtain wall façade and aluminum composite panel material. It will be very modern and technology-based building system.

It takes public space system that is designed without any restrictions that seems to limit the freedom of space users. A system that doesn’t force the users to change their old habits. Rather, in ‘Habituated’, with the help of architectural forms, the system will invite users to experience a good and comfortable public space, thus voluntary become their new god habits. This attitude will create a smart space that should be make Bandung as a smart city.

Order This area make an axis from the governor’s office of West Java building, Perjuangan Rakyat Jawa Barat monument and museum (south), to Tangkuban Perahu mountain (north)

Ideas 1. Design provides an effective space that can accommodate a group of people while maintaining a comfortable atmosphere. The existence of the skywalk adds the capacity of the audience when the concert takes place and provides a unique space experience. 2. Market, park, and regular circulation as a view of the skywalk are expected to educate people about order. 3. Recognizing the importance of natural elements in the built environment by not cutting any trees, the design provides open public spaces to enjoy nature. 4. Leveling on the amphitheater will make the crowd watch the show more comfortably. The stage is also surrounded by a pool to emphasize the zoning for the audience.

The kiosk is designed with a practical and effecient portable system, Kiosks can be opened and closed easily, so the space can also be more flexible. With a pole attached to the ground, the system will compose a fixed path of circulation and zoning, there is no more chaos. Using bamboo materials that reflect local culture, the design can be a complementary of the Perjuangan Jawa Barat Monument beside the site, that adops bamboo as its main concept.

Introduction

The age of 3 to 6 are known as golden age, which is the most effective period of human being when right brain grow rapidly and able to learn and absorb information quickly. The lack of public facilities and public space for children in urban area, in this case Bandung, cause knowledge about golden age is less concerned. Designed with child development concept that accomodate motoric, affective, kognitive, and social needs. PANTJA provides children-friendly spaces for learning, playing, and socialising. Architectural design takes part as built environment and nature as senses development media through thematic garden and educative space. Thematic gardens are design to be sensory garden which has five space zonings according to human senses, i. e. sight, hear, smell, touch, and taste as indicator of child development

HECTIC MENTAL at the age of 3-6 years, when children start to learn how to read, write, and count (calistung).

Lack of outdoor children playground in Indonesia

Lack of parents attention and understanding about the importance of golden age and child educations.

Population of special needs children is increasing rapidly.

Lack of early childhood education which is affordable for lower middle income people. Early childhood educations are too formal.

FUN LEARNING METHODS SO CHILDREN WILL BE LESS STRESSFUL Formal and sistematic learning process are main factors why children got “burn out” of learning. Continuous repeated learning process in the end shapes children cognitive structure “chaotic”. Some potential which can be developed well, be blocked. While some others which are not their potential, even be forced to thrive.

Childhood is a world full of play, start from baby until toddlers, children love to play, There is an internal support (especially the growth of nerve cells on brain) that enabling children to do a lot of activities without getting exhausted. So, in order to avoid those chaotic system, we can apply these 3 methods of learning;

The building mass are split into two masses so it will not change the natural condition which is already split by the river. Buildings are built with north - south orientation to avoid direct sunlight.

Those split masses are united under one roof to form one building mass. This system will create a “wind tunnel” in the middle of the mass. This will act as natural ventilation for the building.

The main circulation is inspired from the shape of Sundanese number five. Five represents the classification of thematic garden in this design which is based on human senses

All visitors are welcomed by the reception room soon after they enter the building. All outdoor and indoor spaces are connected by the plaza which become the centre of this site. LEGEND : 1. Building facade expression is designed following art deco style which is used by a lot of existing buildings around this site. In addition, Bandung is a centre of art deco buildings in Indonesia. Art deco style is depicted through streamline element. The streamlines are painted colorfiul so playful, friendly, and contemporary impression can be achieved.
