Global Breast Pump Market Research Report:
The latest report by IMARC, titled “ Breast Pump Market: Global Industry Trends, Share, Size, Growth, Opportunity and Forecast 2023-20
” " the global breast pump market reached a value of US$ 905.7 Million in 2022.
A breast pump is a device used by lactating women to draw milk from their breasts. Many women use a breast pump to continue breastfeeding after they return to work. They draw their milk, which is later bottle-fed to their baby by a caregiver. It also stimulates lactation in women with a low milk supply. It is used to address multiple challenges parents face during breastfeeding, such as relieving engorgement, latching, feeding an infant who cannot draw sufficient milk from the breast, separating from an infant in intensive care, or avoiding passing medication through breast milk to the child. A manual breast pump is operated by repetitively pulling a handle, allowing the user to control the frequency and pressure of milk expression directly. It is either a manual device powered by hand or foot movements or an automatic one powered by electricity. Though a manual pump is inexpensive, it requires much effort. On the other hand, an electric breast pump is operated by a motor that supplies suction via plastic tubing to a horn that fits over the nipple. It makes pumping faster, provides more suction, and allows users to pump both their breasts at the same time.

Global Breast Pump Market Trends:
The global market is majorly driven by the desire for parents to return to work immediately after the child’s birth. In line with this, the increasing international women's employment rates are significantly contributing to the market growth. Furthermore, the improved healthcare infrastructure in developing countries and the rising government initiatives to support working mothers are positively influencing the market. Apart from this, working mothers are increasingly using breast pumps to draw their milk and feed their babies while they are out working. Moreover, the growing consumer awareness about the product benefits is creating a positive outlook for the market.
Besides, the escalating breastfeeding complications amongst women and the high chances of engorgement are catalyzing the product adoption. Additionally, rapid innovations in electric breast pumps, such as electric breast pumps with motor integration, offer improved milk suction capacity quickly, thus propelling the market expansion. Some of the other factors driving the market include the increasing number of child deliveries, the growing problems related to inadequate milk supply, and new product launches. On account of the factors above, the market is anticipated to reach a value of US$ 1,382.3 Million by 2028, exhibiting a CAGR of 7.12% during 2023-2028.
Looking forward, the market value is projected to reach a strong growth during the forecast period (2023-2028).
