05 The Reborn of Old Alleys — Reconstruction of Dayoufang Alley District

01 Five Tones, Five Yards — Ancient Chinese Opera Conservation Center Type: Academic Individual Work Location: Nanjing, Jiangsu, China Date: Feb. - Mar. 2015 Role: Designer Tutor: Jizhong Shao The most ancient Chinese opera is only made up of five scales, that is" Gong", "Shang", "Jue", "Zhi" and "Yu". This first appeared in the Chinese classical book<Rites of Zhou—-Chunguan>. In today's words, it represents do, re, mi, sol and la. The five scales also suit respectively with five articulating body parts on human body, that is throat, teeth, tooth, tongue and the lips. So in a time when there is no existence of the modern musical notation, ancient Chinese people created the "Gongche Notation" to record the five scales and sing the Chinese opera accordingly. With the five kinds of yards, combinations can be made. These different combinations should not be limited to therectangular site I was given, but can be freely combined to di erent forms. People can experience several di erent melodieswhen taking a stroll across the yards. The "Gongche Notation", together with the ancient Chinese Opera, are both to be buried in oblivion now. It is quite a hard job to call on young people to learn these traditional things and to put their whole life into it. So it is crucial to at least arouse their curiosity and cognition towards the precious intangible cultural heritage. I hope these yards can help visitors understand and feel the beauty of Chinese ancient music and opera.

02 Structure Darning and Space Bridging — culture center reconstructed project Type: Academic Individual Graduation Design Location: Shenzhen, Guangzhou, China Date: Feb. - May. 2017 Role: Designer Tutor: Jizhong,Shao In the past 40 years in China, with the reform and opening up. China's urbanization speed is rapidly underway. Shenzhen is one of the most representative examples. The speed of urbanization has brought many problems, and it has also led architects to think about urban design. Faced with a huge city that has expanded from 300,000 people to 20 million in 40 years, the speed and method of building renewal are worth thinking about. There are three existing buildings on this site, but when they were originally designed, the designers did not expect that Shenzhen would develop so quickly and the service capacity of the buildings would be limited. However, the quality of construction is still relatively safe. Therefore, we hope to upgrade and transform him through the methods of architecture. The newly opened subway line will pass through the underground part of the building, and it is a good idea to combine it with each other.

03 Circle + — City Exhibition Hall Type: Academic Individual Work Location: Nanjing, Jiangsu, China Date: Feb. - Mar. 2017 Role: Designer Tutor: Xiaodong,Lin The project is located in the new city surrounding Nanjing, in the process of urban development in China. The government often plans to build a city exhibition hall to help citizens understand the development aspirations of the new city. Under normal circumstances, this exhibition hall will also introduce historical and cultural information of the development area. In short, this will be an excellent showcase of the city's past and future. In this design, a high-rise hotel has been built on the site. Our task is to build our new exhibition hall next to it. I want to create a feeling of freedom to walk through the exhibition area while enjoying the outdoor scenery. Incorporating the natural scenery into the ow of the building was my first thought.

05 The Reborn of Old Alleys — Reconstruction of Dayoufang Alley District Type: Academic Cooperative Work Location: Nanjing, Jiangsu, China Date: Apr. - Jun. 2016 Role: Free-hand Drawing Painter, Designer, Photographer Partner: Ningxin Huang, Huiyun Jiang Tutor: Yiming Shao, Jing Luo The historic area of the Youyifang Lane is located in the southeast of Nanjing Old City, east of the Qinhuai River, and near the Confucius Temple historical and cultural street on the north side. This is a team cooperation project. The main goal is to protect and continue the overall planning and urban design of the style area with Nanjing typical Ming and Qing dwellings. Due to time, the damage to the buildings on the site is serious and the quality of life of the residents is very low. We hope to reactivate the vitality of this neighborhood through an orderly city renewal plan.
