Ivan and his friends

Ivan is in Grade 2 in teacher Renet’s class. She taught them to always be kind to others. Ivan is very popular and has many friends, but he does not play with everyone in the class. Peter is one of the children Ivan does not play with. Ivan does not like Peter – he thinks Peter is strange and does not want to mingle with him. Once during break, Peter asks whether he can play with Ivan and his friends. “Of course!” says Ivan because teacher Renet taught them to be kind. “Let’s play hide-and-seek. We can only hide around the rugby ±eld,” says Ivan. He decides that Peter is ‘it’. While Peter stands with his eyes closed, counting, Ivan and his friends run far away from the rugby ±eld. Ivan takes out a pack of cards and he and his friends begin playing. “Peter will be looking for a while!” laughs Ivan. The bell rings and everyone goes back to class. “Where were you? I looked everywhere!” says Peter. Ivan laughs and says, “We can play again during next break ...”

Sometimes people are born blind or they are in an accident that causes them to go blind. If you are blind, it means you cannot see. But did you know that people who are blind can read?
