Framework Workbook
Chapter 1
Introduction Welcome to the Framework Workbook! Why a Framework Book? With the increased pressures of online teaching on a full-time or part-time basis, learners have to take more responsibility for their own work and this Framework Workbook provides a suitable tool to ensure that all the necessary work is covered. The Framework Workbook, which is complementary to the Studying Business textbook and follows the same format and headings, can be used in one of two ways: 1.
Taking keyword notes in class, OR
2.
As a revision tool for those learners who prefer to take more detailed notes, or notes in their own format in class. These learners can use the Framework Workbook to test themselves whilst studying for tests and exams.
This handy tool therefore has the following advantages: ○ Provides learners with a complete framework covering all areas of the curriculum. ○ It enables learners to make key-word summaries during class. ○ For learners who are absent, it gives a concise summary of exactly what they need to catch up. ○ For visual learners it creates an image of the main points in the chapter. ○ F or learners who encounter difficulties academically or with the volume of content, it structures the main headings to focus them on the crux of the chapter without getting lost in detail. ○ Mind- maps can be used either at the start, or end of a chapter to capture the most salient points. ○ L earners are forced to work through the detailed content in order to fill in the summary or draw up the mind map. ○ A detailed curriculum is neatly summarised into a quarter of the total detail without losing any of the main factors or focus. ○ T he Framework Workbook provides learners with an excellent resource (in their own language) to use in preparing for examinations and tests. Time constraints make it difficult for learners to "relearn" the formal textbook before an exam and this book provides a solution. ○ C ertain concepts re-appear in grade 11 and 12. The Framework Workbook can be used as a quick resource to recap on important concepts.
We trust that this tool will make life easier for Educators and Learners alike!

Framework Workbook
Dear Learner We hope that the Framework Workbook will assist you in your studies. When making summaries you have to keep the following in mind: 1.
When studying, you have to revise your work several times before a test or exam. The more you revise it, the better you will be able to remember the content. Every chapter starts with a mindmap. Use and abuse the mind-map; make it your own! The mind-map is there to assist you to get to know the work. Use it as a starting point for your studies. Once you know the content, it will be easier for you to apply it to case studies in tests, assignments and exams.
If you do not have a study method that works for you, try to make use of the SQ4R method.
Study your work by making mind maps and summaries. Get answers to when, why, what. Focus on headings and main ideas.
