Italian pudding
2 eggs 0,5 pounds pitted raisins 0,5 oz castor sugar 2 oz mixed peel 0,75 pints of milk 0,2 teaspoons nutmeg 2 oz cake crumbs 1 pound cooking apples 0,5 pound pitted dates Method: • Make a custard by whisking the eggs and sugar together and adding it to the warm milk. • Add the cake crumbs. • Mix the dates, rasins, peel and nutmeg. Peel and remove the seeds from the apples. Cut the apples into thin slices. • Arrange the apple slices at the bottom of a pie dish. • Add the mixed fruit and cover with the custard. • Bake at 335 ºF for one hour in a preheated oven. • Serve hot or cold.
