Our Chair of Trustees, Mick Elliott, said: “Shirley excels in her commitment to ISTD’s key values of passion, excellence, continuing professional development, creativity, diversity, equity, and inclusion. She is an inspiration to our members, their students, and the wider dance community.” Ginny Brown, ISTD Chief Executive, explained: “There are so many positive benefits of dancing and with Shirley’s support we hope to spread the word and encourage more people to join our community.” Shirley’s first official event with the Society was to attend the ISTD Graduation as guest of honour on 13 February and celebrate the success of recently qualified dance teachers. Look out for more opportunities to meet our new president in the coming months. 4
