The sadness is over the new Impericon catalogue is here! Elisabeth of Austria (24 December 1837 – 10 September 1898) was the wife of Franz Joseph I, and therefore both Empress of Austria and Queen of Hungary. She also held the titles of Queen of Bohemia and Croatia, among others. From an early age, she was called Sisi by family and friends. Although Elisabeth had a limited (but significant) influence on Austro-Hungarian politics, she became an historical icon. The Empress is now thought to have been a non-conformist who abhorred conventional court protocol, as well as a free spirit, who valued an individual sense of freedom above anything else. Following the suicide of her son Rudolf, she withdrew from public life. She was murdered by an anarchist in Geneva, Switzerland in 1898. After the darkest winter since the recording of sunshine hours, the light finally comes back. The sunny time of the year starts with several banging releases – besides Bring Me The Horizon´s SEMPITERNAL there is Heaven Shall Burn´s VETO, Your Demise´ COLD CHILLIN´ (that was exclusively released on Impericon), the new Deez Nuts and Terror records and many more. Next to many blooming old trees, there are new plants in our garden as well – loudly blooming like Being As An Ocean who played sold out shows throughout Europe recently and Northlane who proved that Social Media can be a step stone on the way to success. In this instance us being nominated for song of the year really means a lot because it proves to us that people are really supporting our music and think its worthy of winning an award, which is a great feeling.

80s Glam Rock meets fierce MetalcoreMadness - this explosive mixture is called Asking Alexandria and now draws massive amounts of people in front of stages getting bigger and bigger worldwide. We spoke with the band‘s mastermind and guitarist - Ben - about their new album, Warm-Up Music and extraterrestrial shows. If you‘re warming up for a show: What‘s your drink of choice and what are you listening to? I don‘t actually drink alcohol before playing a show any more so the only thing I really drink before playing is water to keep me hydrated, and

perhaps more importantly, sober! We normally listen to a lot of 80‘s rock before going on stage. We have a band warm up ritual where we have a warm up to Jump by Van Halen! Your song Run Free has been nominated for a Golden God Award. In what ways are awards important for you? Winning an award is always a great feeling, but in a lot of ways, to me, the biggest part is being nominated for the award in the first place, because the fact that you have been nominated means that people obviously think that what you are doing is worth an award.

In May you‘ll be playing Rocklahoma Festival along such big names as Guns N‘ Roses, Alice In Chains and more. Which of your childhood idols have you already met? Which do you wish to meet? I have been lucky enough to meet many of my childhood idols such as Sebastian Bach, Slash, Dee Snider, Charlie Watts etc, which is always an unforgettable experience. I still have yet to meet Ozzy Osbourne, that is a definite goal of mine. Since we still don‘t know the title of your upcoming record… Which movie would your upcoming record most likely be the soundtrack to? Except „Through Sin + Self Destruction“ of course :) Wow, thats a really tough question because this record really does take the listener through a number of different journeys. Its dark and light at the same time. It shows the band at its highest points and at its lowest points, so comparing to any one movie doesn‘t really make sense.

What would you say is the perfect setting for one of your fans to listen to youralbum? While they are taking a shower, driving to work, getting married? I think you can listen to music in any setting or environment, but one of my personal favourite times to listen to music is when you are driving around in your car. The windows rolled down, on a road trip with your mates just blasting the album as loud as it can go! In summer, you‘ll be playing huge festivals in Europe: Which one are you most looking forward to? Why? I‘m honestly looking forward to playing all of them. It‘s been a few years since we did the Euro festival circuit and so we have been looking forward to this run for a long time now. If I had to pick any one festival though, it would have to be download. It has always been a dream of mine to play download mainstage and this year, I will finally have that opportunity. It‘s going to be a life changing experience for me for sure. If you could choose one historic location you guys could do a show at what would it be? The moon! How fucking bad ass would that be? Like no other band, Emmure stands for the mix of brutal sound and nerdy insights that an entire scene bases on.. Not only the Impericon Festival III and the Mosh Lives Tour will be highlights in the band’s calendar this year. We were able to talk with singer Frankie Palmeri for a little interview for our new catalogue. Enjoy!

Frankie Palmeri

It seems that you´re fanbase is growing from tour to tour and you´re playing as a headliner more often. As you started as a band what were the highest goals you wanted to achieve and which goals are you trying to achieve now? It‘s so hard to put into words what our goals and motivation was. Today, looking back, I needed a place to face my feelings head on. Music was always a catharsis for me in that sense. The release became a calling. The calling became a purpose and now the goal is to maintain that purpose and continue touch people and entertain them through our music. That so far has probably been the biggest achievement for us all. Is seeing our music take on a life of its own in the hearts of other people.

You´re using platforms like instagram on a daily basis, do you think these platforms help bands to connect with their fans or is it more a burden because of all the comments etc.? I think social media as a whole is a great medium for expanding and promoting yourself as a artist. For me I use it for a plethora of different reasons. One of the bigger reasons is to connect with our fans. I think its entertaining to see what kind of things people are interested in seeing or sharing with each other. I don‘t necessarily see a burden behind any of it. You´re on tour almost all year long and you travel all around the world. What helps you not being homesick or getting sick of the whole band and touring stuff? First and foremost I would like to just say that Emmure is my family. The 5 of us and including our crew make up a team of 9 who‘s devotion, respect and love for each other is unmatched. I couldn‘t imagine being away from any of them for too long. I love that I get to travel and be in new places constantly. I am blessed

beyond measure to do what I do so when you wake up everyday with that kind of attitude its hard to really find the time to get sick or upset over the whole thing. When I get to come back home and recollect myself from the madness of being on the road that is a even bigger blessing because it means the 9 of us have successfully done our part to help each other get through the hardest and most amazing part we of our lives we will ever share. We´re proud to have you at the third Impericon Festival in Leipzig. If you could set up your perfect festival, which bands would have to play there? Well thank you! It is certainly a pleasure and honor to be a part of the festival. As for asking who I would like to see on my own perfect festival or dream festival if you will I have a few names to pull out of the bucket for you. I won‘t get into every side stage that would be included because there is really so much music I love and enjoy but If I had to pick some headliners it would look something like, Die Antwoord, Kayne West and Limp Bizkit to close off the night. § 5 Return instruction Right of Return You can return any received item without providing a reason within 30 days.
