With more and more people getting involved in arts and crafts, it's no surprise to see the younger generation getting involved in scrap booking. They're doing it with a twist; using their computer to create their own digital keepsake books for themselves and for friends and family. These days, almost everybody has a digital camera and we all have dozens of photo's we've never printed out or looked at again. A lot of these photos are ideal material for creating a memory keepsake. Perhaps you have printed photos out but they're sitting in a boring old photo album. Let's look at what you can do to jazz them up and make something that will be the envy of all your friends! Select an assortment of photos that suit the theme you have chosen. For example, if you have a bunch of photos from your last family holiday, sort through your favorite ones. Take a second look at the pictures you don't fancy and look good and hard to see if there is anything in them you might be able to use in your other arts and crafts. Take a sharp pair of scissors, and start to trim around the objects you want to glue into your keepsake album. Cut your photos out in interesting shapes and don't feel restricted to just pictures of family and friends. You might have a few pictures of the beach or different types of scenery. Before you start gluing your cut outs into your keepsake album, you should first get an idea of the layout you're creating. Mix and match to see what looks best. Once you're happy with the look, then you can start gluing your photos into your keepsake books. The saying "measure twice, cut once" applies here. This not only saves time and money if you make a mistake and need to get a re-print, but you're doing your part for the environment by reducing paper waste. There are many different ways you can use digital scrap booking to create a timeless keepsake album. Don't just stick with holidays, you can use your photos from weddings, family Christmas parties or even new born babies to create a baby keepsake book. Most important of all, don't procrastinate! Get out your craft tools and get started today!
