OPS KEY KHOJ “Ops Key Khoj” was organized by FORSE (Forum For Operations
Research And Supply Chain Enthusiasts) on 3rd December 2015. It started with an online quiz in which 10 teams were shortlisted. These teams were given an operations based crossword puzzle to solve. It was then followed by a treasure hunt where participants were given 12 operations centric clues to win their way out. Everybody played very enthusiastically and the winners were given a cash prize of Rs. 2500.
NOSTALGIA 2015 K J Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research hosted its annual Alumni Homecoming meet, Nostalgia, on 12th December 2015. For over fifteen years, Nostalgia has been the link that connects SIMSR and its alumni. More than a simple get together, Nostalgia is the platform where SIMSR celebrates the achievements of its alumni. This year, Nostalgia began with Dr. Monica Khanna, the acting Director, addressing the alumni as co-creators of values that reinforce SIMSR’s educational brand. She emphasized on alumni being the advocates for their alma mater and how their success brings recognition to SIMSR. Alumni are a
rich source of innovative ideas that can make SIMSR a world class institute. Mr. Anuj Bhargava, an alum of batch 1985 and the President of SIMSR’s Alumni Association shared his vision for building alumni relations.
Our Chief Guest for the evening was Mr. Harsh Bhosale, an alum of batch 1986 and the Senior VP of HR at Essar Oil. He delivered an interactive session on “The Power of Networking”. Mr. Bhosale spoke about two types of networking—horizontal and vertical. The key is to network with superiors who are easily accessible and can share their knowledge; for instance, one’s boss at the workplace. Dr. Radha Iyer, Chairperson, Alumni Relations, presented a roadmap of the Alumni Committee’s goals, objectives and future plans. The batches of 1985 and 2005 were felicitated in honour of their 30th and 10th anniversary of graduation, respectively. The highlight of the evening was Parichay, a networking game through which alumni got an opportunity to mingle with each other.
