Bengaluru serves as a central hub attracting a diverse populace from across India, primarily due to its abundant job opportunities. Within this bustling urban landscape, the workforce is constantly in motion, seeking essential amenities in various locations. In light of this, I introduce my project, ‘Housing on the move,’ designed to cater to the daily needs of these dynamic laborers.”

Okalipuam, Bengaluru, Karnataka 4Th Semester Housing Project Mentors: Edgar D Mello | Sunain Dalwani | Ajinkya Kanitkar | Mansi “To enhance the sustainability and ecological consciousness of my architectural endeavor, I have undertaken a creative approach by repurposing shipping containers to establish lodging solutions tailored for mobile professionals, including construction workers, plumbers, electricians, and other occupational groups. This pioneering endeavor is aptly titled ‘Housing on the move,’ symbolizing the dynamic lifestyle of these workers, mirroring the perpetual movement and utility of shipping containers.” “The design approach revolved around a series of iterations involving the clustering of containers to derive purposeful and functional spatial configurations.”

“Jayanagar functions as a pivotal hub that draws a diverse population from various parts of Bengaluru, primarily driven by the multitude of employment prospects it offers. In this dynamic urban environment, the working population is consistently on the move, searching for essential services in different areas. In consideration of this, I present my project, ‘Healing through Nature,’ specifically crafted to address the daily requirements of a Primary Health Center, with a focus on the healing aspects of biophilia.”

Healing through nature... Jayanagar , Bengaluru, Karnataka 5Th Semester Project Mentors: Mahalakshmi Karnad | Seema Anand | Gaurav Sareen| Archana Ramesh

In the modern world, where concrete jungles dominate our surroundings, the importance of reconnecting with nature for improved well-being cannot be overstated. Integrating biophilic design principles into public health centers can not only enhance the physical environment but also contribute significantly to the mental and emotional well-being of patients. This sproject explores the key concepts and considerations for designing a public health center with a biophilic approach to enrich the lives of patients and neighbours around the site. Key points- Embrace Natural Light, Incorporate Greenery, Use Natural Materials, Access to Outdoor Spaces, Views of Nature, Biophilic Art, Water Features, Circulation and Wayfinding, Educational Opportunities. Designing a public health center with these key points as an Biophilic approach can significantly enhance the lives of patients by promoting healing, reducing stress, and improving overall well-being

Iteration ”I drew inspiration from the botanical world, particularly observing the way plants and their leaves adhere to a specific phyllotaxy pattern in order to optimize their exposure to light. This natural phenomenon involves a rotation at an angle of 137.5 degrees.” “Therefore, in the ultimate architectural design, each floor is strategically oriented at an angle of 68.7 degrees to optimize the intake of natural light. This approach results in the incorporation of green roofs, fostering a visual link to the external environment, thereby enhancing the overall aesthetic and connection

Bhadra dam , Chickmanguluru, Karnataka 6Th Semester Minor Project Mentors: Pankaj S | Dev Bildkar | Nagraj Vastarey| Shalini Prakash The interconnectedness between humankind and the botanical and zoological realms constitutes a cornerstone of our natural order. It accentuates the intricate tapestry of life on Earth, elucidating the interdependency inherent in all living organisms. Crafting a visual presentation that cultivates a profound sense of affiliation between humans and the natural world stands as a potent means of underscoring this nexus and promoting heightened consciousness regarding the imperative to safeguard our environment.

Bannerghatta, located in the southern outskirts of Bengaluru, India, boasts a wealth of natural and environmental riches. Its lush greenery, diverse flora and fauna, and proximity to vital ecosystems make it a prime location for the establishment of a Wildlife Campus. This initiative seeks to preserve the area’s environmental factors, maintain biodiversity, and seamlessly integrate these elements in a systematic manner. Hence I propose the design “Under the roof ” which is a Wildlife Campus in Bannerghatta is envisioned as a hub for education, research, and conservation, designed to celebrate and preserve the region’s natural wonders.

Bannarghetta , Bengaluru, Karnataka 6Th Semester Project Mentors: Pankaj S | Dev Bildkar | Nagraj Vastarey| Shalini Prakash My concept primarily centers around the creation of a shared habitat for animals and humans, coexisting under a single architectural canopy. The focal point of this concept is the roof, which originates from the highest contour point and serves as the backdrop for the entire design. The expansive roof structure is intended to convey a welcoming atmosphere. The design incorporates elements of elevation to evoke a sense of ascent, thereby generating anticipation and excitement. As one progresses through the space, the main architectural structure is unveiled, revealing an intriguing and aesthetically engaging form. Design process:

Chikkegowanapalya, a serene retreat on the outskirts of Bangalore, is renowned for its idyllic ambiance and natural beauty. Its pleasant climate, often likened to Bangalore’s reputation as the “Garden City of India,” offers a soothing escape from the urban hustle. A distinctive feature, a small elevated hill known as the “Mini Earth,” graces the locale, providing an awe-inspiring vantage point for sunset views, fostering a profound sense of connection with nature and inner tranquility. As this hidden gem gains recognition, there is a promising opportunity to further enrich its appeal by designing public spaces that promote community engagement and cultural vibrancy. Initiatives such as wellplanned parks and community hubs can encourage social interactions, nurturing a holistic development that enhances Chikkegowanapalya’s allure and fosters sustainable growth.

A diverse spectrum of colors painted the sky as the sun descended below the horizon. Consequently, the inspiration for my design concept is deeply rooted in the nuances of this breathtaking sunset. Additionally, considering the somewhat remote location of this site, my design endeavors to address the essential needs of its inhabitants while Design process:

Project context

AIKYAM represents a user-friendly, resilient, cost-effective, net-zero energy, and water-efficient structure designed for both resilience and office purposes. The project is developed in collaboration with PWD Arunachal Pradesh, with industry partnership from Fiducia Ai Inc. This three-story community center and office building proposal envisions a configuration where, under normal circumstances, two floors function as a community center, and the topmost floor serves as an office. However, in times of disaster, the building seamlessly transforms into both a disaster shelter and a functional office.
