ACCENTUS MUSIC ACCENTUS Music At Lucerne Festival 2011 ACCENTUS Music is proud to announce the production of the Lucerne Festival Orchestra concerts under the baton of Claudio Abbado at the Lucerne Festival in Summer 2011. Additionally, on 9 August 2011, Claudio Abbado and the Lucerne Festival Orchestra will perform the Adagio of Gustav Mahler’s Tenth Symphony to commemorate the victims of the massive earthquake and tsunami in Japan. In coproduction with the Lucerne Festival, ACCENTUS Music will produce the concert providing a live transmission for a high-quality screening at the renowned Suntory Hall in Tokyo, Japan. A l t h o u g h t h e L u c e r n e Fe s t i v a l Orchestra’s Mahler cycle under Claudio Abbado has become a hallmark of this elite orchestra and its conductor, their performances of Bruckner are nothing

less than a sensation. Abbado and his o rc h e s t r a n o w c o n t i n u e t h e i r exploration of Bruckner with the Fifth Symphony – normally a concert-length challenge in itself. Even so, Abbado will couple the Bruckner with Mozart’s Haffner Symphony on 19 August 2011.
