St. Tammany Corporation is the lead economic development organization for St. Tammany Parish, and we are proud to be redefining the work of economic development in St. Tammany. Our organization’s purpose is to bolster our local economic environment, support a diverse business landscape, prioritize well-paying jobs and foster an outstanding quality of life to attract and retain highly skilled talent. ST. TAMMANY ECONOMIC QUICK FACTS

• POPULATION: 265,000. St. Tammany contributes to more than 20% of the Greater New Orleans region’s total ten-parish population. We are one of the largest and fastest-growing parishes in the state, as well as one of the top 50 largest countyequivalents in the Gulf South.

From 2010 to 2020, St. Tammany added more than 30,000 new residents. That’s eight new residents every single day, or about 250 per month, for ten years. This also means that our parish has grown faster than all but three other parishes in the state.

• JOBS: From 2012 to 2022, jobs in St. Tammany grew by 14.6%, a rate twice the national growth rate (7.3%), and in contrast with Louisiana and the Greater New Orleans region, both of which lost jobs during the same period. • BUSINESSES: New business filings grew more than 58% between 2017 and mid-2021, showing that St. Tammany continues to be the destination of choice for businesses to form, grow, and thrive. During the pandemic alone, new business incorporations filed grew about 20%. • PRODUCTIVITY: St. Tammany’s gross regional product (GRP), or the total size of our local economy, is over $12 billion, contributing to about 15% of the ten-parish Greater New Orleans Region’s GRP. GRP is a measure of the total size of a local economy, including all of the goods and services exchanged, taxes paid, and wealth created.
