THE POST
Existing building
Historically a central part of civic society, today’s post offices have lost their presence as an institution. The project reimagines the functions of a traditional post office to meet today’s challenges of the postal network and the environmental and logistical issues of global trade.
The design is driven by the principle of circularity - textile products, parcel packaging, and the building’s materials. The Post office is intended to be a driver for a positive change, a place for the community, and an educational facility promoting the circular economy. Except for traditional post office services, the building facilities the “2nd life” of clothes, engaging the public in the processes of reusing and repurposing textile products.
