his year monsoon has bestowed its favors in time in the coastal belts of India and Goa has crossed almost 100MM level within just 25 days of the shower. Dams are filled up above their capacity. It is the clear indication that this year people will not have any water shortage and crops will blossom. Last few years monsoon was really playing hide and seek and people were really worried about the entire scenario but with the timely attendance of monsoon this year, everyone seems to be happy. Keeping few exceptions away overall this year's monsoon can be said to have done justice. Monsoon is the best time to enjoy in Goa. Better late than never Goa Tourism Department and Goa government has realized that Monsoon Tourism could be a potential tourist season and to attract more tourists into the state. Goa Government in association with Goa Tourism has decided to promote the Hinterlands Tourism rigorously this year. The Hinterlands of Goa has been quite neglected all throughout the time. The major focus of tourism department was always been the pristine beaches of Goa that remain full throughout the season (from October to February) but as time passed the seasonal tourists started diminishing. Every year started becoming worse than the previous year. This made the stakeholders of the tourism industry in Goa to take desperate measures to make sure that tourism industry of Goa does not get completely finished. In a way to revive the dying tourism industry in the state Tourism Department started implementing various strategies. The Hinterland Tourism is one of them. The cover story of this issue will guide you through Hinterlands of Goa and how to make the best use of the same in Monsoon. Monsoon does not mean only the hinterland tourism but also various festivities that Goa is famous for. The tourists as well the locals alike can make the best use of this time to get indulged into the monsoon festivals of Goa. There are Boderam at Divar, Taushachem Fest in various parts of Goa, Sangod at Siolim and much more. Goa is not just about the tourism alone but it also leads in Sports activity such as Football. The FC Goa Football Club is one such thing that Goa has been proud of all this while. The FC Goa has finally gone to the Casino owners in Goa.
