Of course, the details of the same has been mentioned at the bottom of this editorial and I am sure you would like to be a part of it. Now coming back to the issue of Demonetisation. The Demonetisation is perhaps the most talk about the subject in the town, at the moment. Every media in the town is filled up the with the series of articles on a demonetisation and cashless society. Perhaps Goa may become the first cashless model state of India as stated by the defense minister Mr. Manohar Parrikar in the media. According to Mr. Parrikar, his government is taking all the efforts to make the Goa first model state in India by going 100% cashless by the end of December. We really don't know what will be the outcome of it, but every one of us is waiting in anticipation that some concrete solution comes out sooner for the replacement of currency issue. Goa is being the small state in India, did not face the severe impact of currency demonetisation, but still there is a cash crunch in the state. The business is running normally as Goans primarily used to deal with plastic money (credit/debit cards). The cover feature of this issue is going to put more light on this issue of demonetisation. Panaji being the capital city of Goa still, lacks the basic facilities such as cleanliness and systematic garbage
disposal. The Mayor of CCP has always been into controversy due to his constant tussle with the ruling party. The MLA of the city is BJP candidate and the Mayor belongs to the Babush Panel. This cold war leads to the underdevelopment of the city of Panaji. According to Mayor, he is trying his best to make Panaji a real smart city but the hurdles have been put on his way by the opposition. In the section of In Focus, our mayor will tell you about his efforts and future plans on transforming Panaji into the smart city. The women empowerment section of our magazine has received tremendous response from our readers and we have decided to make it little more interactive for the readers. November 9th will be going down into the history (as 9/11 Demonetisation Day) once again with one of the most important notifications issued by the Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi Ji on the currency demonetisation at previous night at 8pm. This is perhaps the second time after 1978 that notes of 1000 were banned in Indian by the top most powerful person in Indian political arena. The news spread like a fire in the media at around 8pm on 8th November and the social media became a platform for spreading numerous rumors on demonetization and filled up with the updates on demonetisation making its mockery of the system.
