Who is this programme for? The Leadership Academy is for experienced leaders and people managers responsible for running the business. No two people have the exact same development demands, and the programme is tailored so that an individual bespoke development plan can be created by selecting the most appropriate sessions from a rich portfolio of masterclasses covering a wide range of leadership and management challenges. Part of the value of the programme comes from the diversity of experience across the cohorts. The team grows together and embeds a new company-wide approach to leadership and management to the benefit of the whole company.

Consistently and deliberately developing techniques and skills to increase leadership team effectiveness. All are highly interactive, based on current challenges and most designed as 90min segments. These masterclasses have been chosen and developed based on our expertise and experience in building excellent managers and leaders. Portfolio of Masterclasses 01

Defining Leadership Expectation To define and document the expectations that the Leadership Team has of itself and everyone in the business. The result is to inspire a culture that positively drives performance whilst living the company values. Another outcome of this session is a documented “code” to keep the team honest and helps in deliberately recruiting people that contribute. May require pre-work &/or 360 feedback. 02

Leadership VS Management A session to identify the differences between leadership and management and circumcircumstances when it is most appropriate to lead vs manage. This class makes even the most experienced think and is a useful introduction to the broad topic of management, so may be combined with other masterclass sessions or run stand-alone. 03

Management Inventory Workshop to define the anatomy of your ideal manager. To identify the required skills, behaviours and mind-set. To create a simple assessment that enables each manager to benchmark themselves against their newly defined ideal. A gem in this session is the manager time budget – a tool that helps people do more of the right stuff and helps immunise from distraction. 04

Delivering Actionable Feedback Many interactions between managers and their staff are about instigating, inspiring or driving change. This session leverages 2 highly effective feedback models that drive required results and can even help people break habits of a lifetime. Popular with experienced managers, this workshop saves time and stress with take-aways that are put to use straight away.

Understanding Type People think differently & behave differently which is why all good managers understand personality and are able to bring out the best in their people and build high performing teams. Key to success is a high degree of self-awareness and the ability to work effectively irrespective of the different preferences of their people. Before this 120 min session, delegates must complete and online assessment. 08

Situational Leadership To help managers identify the most appropriate approaches to inspiring results as their people develop in role. Knowing when to instruct and when to coach is important as no single management style will be universally appropriate. This introduction helps delegates map their team on the model and to make decisions based on the learning. 09

Mentoring and Coaching An energising and instantly useful masterclass that helps managers develop selfstarting thinkers in their team by highlighting different applications for mentoring and coaching. Using role plays based on current examples in their team, delegates practice new skills using selected models. 10

Dealing with Conflict To help managers develop new ways to operate when their views differ from those they manage. This masterclass highlights the impact of emotional triggers in conflict and introduces the range of modes available to more effectively manage conflict. Effective managers know when to tell and when to let it go and this session will enable participants to more proactively and skilfully identify the most appropriate response. 11

Performance Management and Career Conversations

The Perfect 1:1

Key to driving sustained and predictable business results is the ability to manage individual performance. This workshop helps managers work more objectively. It covers employee reviews, statutory and legal considerations as well as introducing new positive approaches (comparometer) to drive results. The session covers key ingredients such as career planning, reward and recognition.

The antidote to unrewarding 1:1’s for both participants. A workshop for the team to define their version of the best possible practice for all managers in the business. Tips and tools are discussed and in the process each delegate prepares a perfect 1:1 for use with one of their team. Better 1:1s and better manager consistency drive better results. 06

Developing the High Performance Team Every manager’s goal is to develop a high performing team and this workshop strengthens the fundamentals to support that ambition. Starting with the behaviour iceberg , and the ability to lead change and team dynamics. Leading onto planning, continuous development and creating the next wave. This session positively impacts managers' thinking, priorities and urgency.

Personal and Top-Team Effectiveness This masterclass delivers value to individuals and the top team. Working interactively and pooling experience it highlights techniques to help: time management; how to influence when not in a position of authority; developing personal impact; building effective relationships; dealing with difficult people; communication to get right message across; questioning to get people to open up. Concludes with an exercise to help the team to work better together.
