The team at INC Silver is very proud to present their first independent range of tableware accessories. We began at our INC studios in Sheffield, taking influences from Christopher Dresser's late 19th century teapot designs. Alike to Christopher Dresser the INC team has been designing tableware and manufacturing silverware anonymously for over 15 years. The challenge to meet the client's brief whether loose or specific is what we do best. The INC team use modern design techniques combined with our own traditionally trained silversmiths. INC specialise in beautifully handcrafted, silver and partial gold holloware and flatware. Often we are asked to personalize our silverware for instance family crest or yacht logo. Our talented and highly experienced silversmiths, chasers, engravers, jewellers and finishers ensure that each piece is hand crafted and finished to an exceptionally high standard. Our in-house designers can guarantee designs exclusive to the client. Whether co-ordinating with existing decoration and tableware, or a complete new design concept with china, crystal and linen. In this case for Deco we set our own brief and we hope you like it.

The city of Sheffield has been producing some of the world’s finest silverware for over two hundred years now, and as a result still enjoys a world-wide reputation for the highest quality craftsmanship available today. Whilst the scale of Sheffield’s silverware industry has reduced, the quality is as high as ever, and the expertise and craftsmanship of its silversmiths is even higher. Sheffield has been famous for its Steel and cutlery for hundreds of years, and its silver trade was built upon this rich heritage. From its very beginning, Sheffield’s importance in the UK silver industry grew and grew, and by 1773 it had its own assay office. Sheffield-based makers such as CJ Vander and Roberts & Belks became world famous for their superior products and even today the “made in Sheffield” mark on items is well recognised as a symbol of quality. In more recent years, Sheffield has experienced a rising number of designer makers and silversmiths who work either on commission or in small one off orders and bespoke projects. This is the latest development in a long history of Sheffield being at the cutting edge of innovation in metal working industries. Hundreds of years later, Sheffield continues to be home to some of the most prestigious silversmiths and designers in the Silverware trade, and is internationally renowned as the home of some of the finest products available today.
