Employees are responsible too
NATIONAL
Training employees on the guidelines of selling tobacco, including the advertising, displays and sale to minors, ensure the business is compliant. Employees need to understand they too have a responsibility when selling tobacco. These include:
• When selling tobacco products, they must do so responsibly and follow the law. • Complete regular training (dependent on State Legislation/ recommendations) • Ensure signage is correct. • Notify management of any issues regarding signage, storage, and display cabinets. • Notify management of any issues with difficult customers. • Do not sell tobacco products to anybody under the age of 18, no matter what the circumstances are.
