Agents go pink for foundation IT MAY seem like an unusual colour choice but the Buxton team is proud of their pink For Sale and For Lease stickers. Buxton Highton director Tony Moorfoot said the firm was proudly displaying the pink stickers in support of Breast Cancer Awareness month. “Basically, we change all our sold and lease stickers from green to pink to show our support,” Mr Moorfoot said. “We’ve been doing this for about four years and it’s such an amazing thing to be involved in.

“This issue affects so many people in our community, so we’re very happy to support the cause.” Mr Moorfoot said Buxton employees from Melbourne and Geelong would come together for a pink breakfast and a charity auction to offer further support for Breast Cancer Foundation. “Buxton is a gold partner of the foundation, so it’s a great thing to be involved in,” he said. “The colourful change has sparked interest already. We’ve

had a few people commenting on it. “After our office has sold homes recently and put the pink sold sticker up the vendors have thought it’s a fantastic idea. “If people are driving around and see the pink stickers we want them to know that it’s for a good cause.” Mr Moorfoot said anyone who wanted to donate could phone Breast Cancer Foundation toll-free on 1300 708 763 or visit www.nbcf.org.au.

Design wins another trophy for Hotondo builder at HIA awards night HOTONDO Homes Ocean Grove owners Nick and Allie Barker added yet another industry trophy to their growing collection with a Project Home of the Year award last weekend. Housing Industry Association presented the award when recognising Western Victoria’s talented designers, builders and building companies at a Geelong dinner on Saturday. “We’re really happy about it,” Ms Barker said. “Every award gives you more credibility and it lets you know you’re on the right track with what client’s want.” Ms Barker said the Project Home of the Year recognition was based on a particular design clients had chosen. “It was still the same design but we made the special changes and added a coastal facade.” Ms Barker said it was becoming more popular for clients to add their own personal touch to designs.

“It’s something most people want to do now. “Each client seems to have individual needs that have to be met in some way, whether that’s positioning of rooms, solar access to get some warmth into the house or sometimes wheelchair access.” Ms Barker attributed the win to her hard-working team. “We’ve got a great team of subcontractors who we’ve been dealing with for quite a few years and also the team in our showroom is great,” she said. “It comes down to a lot of hard work and quite a lot of initial consultation with clients.” Other award winners included Signature Homes Geelong, Pivot Homes, MG Design and Building and Hamlan Homes.
