DESIGNERS of a contemporary Newtown home hope its innovative features will win a coveted industry award. Vibe Design Group managing director Michael O’Sullivan said his company had entered 1A Mercer Parade into Building Designers Association of Victoria awards for residential design, alterations and additions and interior design. Mr O’Sullivan said the Newtown property was Vibe’s first project in Geelong, with most of the company’s work on “the eastern seaboard of Australia”. He described the home, available for sale by tender through Professionals Geelong, as an “artistic endeavour”. The home was designed to fit in with its Newtown surroundings and its sloping allotment, Mr O’Sullivan said. “This style of house will still be relevant when your children grow up and live in it 20 years from now.” Mr O’Sullivan said one of the home’s surprises was a timber feature wall with hidden doors. “When you’re aware of a
