Rebrand for technology A GEELONG branch agency of Elders has joined forces with First National in a re-branding move to cope with a world of changing technology. The former Elders Real Estate office in Belmont has become First National Real Estate Sanders. Principal director Graeme Sanders said his new, re-branded First National agency offered the same ownership and dedicated staff. “This is an exciting time for us and I believe this move will allow the company to offer a greater level of service in both property management and residential real estate sales,” Mr Sanders said. “The world of technology is moving too quickly to be able to keep up alone with the latest products both technically and time wise and this is a major reason for our decision to co-brand.” Mr Sanders believed his new First National office would offer clients “a greater level of service”. “E-commerce and communication is the way forward,” he said. “Communication and good customer service is really important to us and we want to keep that. “While technology is important, we would still like to maintain the personal touch, the face-to -face contact with people. “That will never change at First National Real Estate Sanders but it is also important to have the most advanced tools at our disposal when it comes to marketing valuable assets for lease and sale.” Mr Sanders said the First National group was established in Geelong more than 20 years ago.

Development adds aged care to facility list A NEW specialist elderly-care facility will be developed and built at Point Lonsdale by aged care provider Arcare as part of Stockland’s The Point residential development. Stockland Victoria general manager Andrew Whitson has appointed the firm to develop the facility that will offer high and low level care for up to 90 people. “Established in 1997, Arcare is a respected and experienced aged care provider and operates 15 facilities nationally,” Mr Whitson said. Beangala ward councillor Jan Farrell said The Point’s new facility will provide assistance for the peninsula’s elderly community. “In Queenscliff and Point Lonsdale there are more than twice Victoria’s average number of people aged over 60 years so it is essential to have services such as these available in the region,” Cr Farrell said. The Point will be a residential community spanning 190 hectares between the Bellarine Highway and Shell Road that will provide 600 residential allotments, a community centre, retail facilities, retirement living and childcare. The development will be enhanced with 86 surrounding hectares of open spaces with walking and cycling trails. Arcare chief executive officer Mal Humphries expected construction of the Arcare facility to start mid-2011.
