Initiative ‘pads out giveaway’ LIKE SO many other busiensses bitten by the iPad bug, Professionals Geelong has spread its enthusiasm for the gadget to potential clients. Professionals Geelong director Jason Barnett said one lucky resident of the city had already won an iPad as part of the a new give-away initiative at the office. Mr Barnett said anyone who attended an openhouse or organised a property appraisal through the Professionals would go into a daily draw for an iPad. “It’s running for 40 days and ends on April 9, so there’s still time to enter,” he said. “It’s a pretty easy way to

THE HARCOURTS North Geelong team let its hair down on the weekend at a charity gala night. Director Joe Grgic said 200 guests enjoyed the event and fought it out at in a fundraising auction. Mr Grgic said he was excited to step back into the shoes of auctioneer for the event. “High-selling items on the night were a Collingwood 2010 premierships jersey, a Cats 2009 jersey and a 2011 Cats jersey donated by Bob Gartland,” he said. “A surprise item was a Western Bulldogs jersey that went for $1000, with two avid fans fighting it out.” Mr Grgic said patrons enjoyed a night filled with fun, great food and entertainment, including a live band featuring TV presenter and Kylie Minogue impersonator Angie Hilton. “It was a great night for the Royal Children’s Hospital,” he said. Last year’s event raised $29,106 through ticket sales and auctions for the Royal Children’s Hospital. Mr Grgic said organisers had high expectations that this year’s event would raise even more cash. The organisers would donate all proceeds to the Good Friday Appeal, he said. “Funds raised during the appeal will help the hospital keep up-to-date with technology, making it a world-class paediatric facility.”

Latest home designs on display eelong’s largest display village opened at Leopold’s Estuary Estate on the weekend, giving the public an opportunity to inspect the latest designs from some of Victoria’s renowned

builders. Villawood Properties executive director Rory Costelloe says Estuary’s new display village will “lead the way” for home hunters in the Geelong region. Mr Costelloe says Estuary’s display centre features homes by some of Melbourne’s bestknown national and boutique builders. The opening of the 20-home display village marked an “important project milestone” for the Leopold community. The development offers 650 allotments as well as parks and gardens, walking and cycling paths and a proposed five-hectare reserve, Mr Costelloe says. Home sites range from 443 to 703 square metres, with prices starting at $158,900. “Geelong has just enjoyed a population boom and as a result home buyers are flocking to the area in search of the perfect location to build their dream home,” Mr Costelloe says. “It’s important that home hunters have access to the best and most up-to-the-minute home designs and information, so Estuary’s new display village will become a valuable tool for purchasers looking to capitalise on this affordable region.” The village has designs from Burbank Homes, Dennis Family Homes, GJ Gardener Homes, Hamlan Homes, Hotondo Homes, Innov8 Homes, JG King, Metricon Homes, Porter Davis Homes, Signature Homes and Simonds Homes. Mr Costelloe says more than 600 people visited the village last weekend for a family fun day at which they enjoyed activities including face painting, balloon artists, a jumping castle, an animal farm and a free barbecue.
