‘Wealth’ for ward Innovative: Porter Davis Homes helped raise the bar at the annual HIA Awards.
Porter Davis wins HIA Award for ‘focus on clients’ AFTER a “trying year” in the housing market Porter Davis Homes has again won one of Australia’s most prestigious industry awards. Porter Davis director Paul Wolff said affordability and land supply issues had affected the housing market this year but he was “ecstatic” to take home a Housing Industry Association award this month.
Mr Wolff said focusing on the needs of clients had helped his company win the Professional Major Builder of the Year prize. “This has required continual innovation and a dedication to not just watching and responding to market trends but being proactive about developing products,” he said. “We’re ecstatic those efforts have been recognised by the
HIA and we’re proud to be Victoria’s most-professional builder. “Our focus on creating a positive all-round experience has put us in a special and award-winning position.” HIA managing director Shane Goodwin said Porter Davis had helped “raise the bar” at the annual industry awards. Mr Goodwin praised the
company Davis for its industryfirst iPhone application, threestage quality approval process and new designs for 14-metre wide blocks. “These awards epitomise what everybody wants in an Australian home architecturally innovative designs, the attention to detail and workmanship and a genuine focus on sustainability.”
GEELONG’S Property, Wealth and Sustainability Expo has extended a helping hand to the children’s ward in the city’s public hospital, according to organisers. Expo director Wade Vautier said Geelong’s philanthropic business community responded “overwhelmingly” at the event last weekend to a call for donations to help brighten the ward. Mr Vautier said Barwon Health would use the property expo donation for 10 new electric beds with “all the bells and whistles”. The beds featured battleship designs for boys and pink flowers for girls, he said. “The beds for Geelong Hospital cost $2500 and will carry an engraved plaque acknowledging the supporting business,” Mr Vautier said.
The expo, in its fourth year at Deakin University, brought the region’s top builders and major land developers together. “The level of exhibitors surpassed previous expos and was of the highest calibre,” Mr Vautier said. “Patrons had access to professionals who are regional leaders in their business areas.” Mr Vautier said patrons also had opportunities to speak with property professionals who shared hot tips on the region’s future growth areas. “They also gained tips on sustainable living, wealth creation, the legal issues of auctions and private sale, investing in commercial property and property developments.” Speakers addressed a range of other topics including business, property and economic development.
