HERITAGE Weekend is a perfect time to look at what we are creating right now that will turn out to be our legacy for the generations to come.
Often when we think of Heritage Day we look back but, at this juncture in humanity’s history, perhaps we need to look forward and project ourselves 40 years ahead and then 400 years ahead.

What sort of heritage are we going to be leaving behind for the generations after us? What world are the babies who are born today going to have when they are our age?
As humanity, as governments and as policy makers, what are we doing today that we will be proud of in decades, even centuries, to come?
What are we doing to our environment? What homes are we creating? What policies are we allowing to be passed or are we pushing to have passed?
On this Heritage Weekend, let’s ask the hard questions about the future we are creating right now, so we can make better, kinder choices so when we are a page in the history books, or just a story, it is one told with pride because we made this a better world.
