Safety Net Precautions
1. Adequate overhead clearance is essential. A minimum of 26 feet from ground level is recommended. Provide clearance for wires, tree limbs, and other possible hazards.
1. Users may become entangled in or strangled by loose cords or in gaps between trampoline and enclosure.
2. Lateral clearance is essential. Place the trampoline away from walls, structures, fences, and other play areas. 3. Maintain a free space of minimum nine feet on all sides of the trampoline. This area should not include concrete, bitumen, brick or other hard surfaces as these can cause serious injuries. 4. NOTE: For trampolines with enclosures, the free space may be reduced to five feet. 5. Keep the trampoline on a level surface. 6. Use the trampoline in a well-lighted area. 7. Trampolines should be placed on impactabsorbing surface such as grass, woodchip, sand (not beach sand as the trampoline will become more prone to rusting), rubber or synthetic compounds. 8. Remove any obstructions from beneath the trampoline.

2. Keep enclosure tightly fastened to the trampoline in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Failure to properly assemble and maintain a tight, secure trampoline enclosure boundary may result in serious injury, strangulation, or death. 3. Do not attempt to jump over the barrier. 4. Do not intentionally rebound off the barrier. 5. Do not hang from, kick, cut, or climb on the barrier. 6. Wear clothing free of drawstrings, hooks, loops or anything that could get caught while using the trampoline enclosure and result in entanglement or strangulation, or both. 7. Do not attach anything to the barrier that is not a manufacturer-approved accessory or part of the enclosure system.
8. Enter and exit the enclosure only at the enclosure door or barrier opening designated for that purpose. 9. A Vuly trampoline enclosure is only to be used as an enclosure for a trampoline of a size for which the enclosure is designed.
MAINTENANCE | Instructions Your trampoline is a large investment for the enjoyment of both children and adults, and it must be noted that improper use or lack of care can lead to an early demise— even with the highest quality trampolines and trampoline parts. Please follow all of the points below to ensure your product lasts as long as possible.
• Missing, improperly positioned, or insecurely attached frame padding.
Safety Padding
• Punctures, frays, tears, or holes worn in the bed or frame padding.
1. Trampoline safety padding is designed to be highly water resistant and UV-resistant to withstand sun exposure for the life of their warranty. The safety padding is designed to breathe as if it was fully waterproof. A puncture could cause water to become trapped inside and highly accelerate the deterioration of the padding.
• Deterioration in the stitching or fabric of the bed or frame padding. • Broken or stretched springs. • A bent or broken frame.
General Care 1. When your trampoline is not going to be used for a long period of time, it is best to store it out of the weather.
• A sagging bed. • Sharp protrusions on the frame, padding or suspension system. • Damaged or degraded padding.
2. Protect and secure your trampoline is extreme weather such as strong winds, hail and lightening. An effective way to prevent damage under these extreme circumstances is to cover the trampoline with an appropriate protective cover and to secure the trampoline to the ground to avoid it being moved by strong winds.
• Punctures, frays, tears, or holes worn in the bed or edge systems.
3. Inspect the trampoline before each use and replace any worn, defective, or missing parts. The following conditions could represent potential hazards:
• A sagging bed.
• Deterioration in the stitching or fabric of the bed or edge system. • Broken or missing suspension elements, or suspension elements disconnected from the bed edge.
• A bent or broken frame or sharp protrusion on the frame.
2. Safety padding must be keep loose above the springs, and should not be leaned on or sat on while the trampoline is in use. This weight applies direct contact to the springs and can cause ripping to the safety pads. 3. In areas that experience extreme cold, remove and store the safety pads indoor in winter. This will prevent any possible cracking due to sub-zero temperatures. 4. Under no circumstances should any objects measuring temperatures equal to or greater than 120 degrees Fahrenheit come into contact with any part of the safety padding. High temperatures may result in melting or burning of the padding material and extreme temperatures may cause the padding to set on fire.

Maintenance Instructions continued 5. Rain water, if not wiped off, may result in spots forming from residue left from the water as it dries. Any water applied to clean the surface must be wiped dry with a clean cloth or chamois and not left to dry in the sun.
Frame 1. The trampoline frame is designed to be fluid around the person jumping. Any weight added by persons sitting on the edge of the frame or by securing the trampoline to the ground puts increased pressure on the joints and the springs. 2. We recommend a soft, level surface for trampoline positioning, such as a front or back lawn. Hard surfaces such as concrete or pavement can increase pressure against the frame joints or cause damage to the ground or frame from movement of the trampoline. 3. Damage can also occur within the frame due to overloading the trampoline. VULY trampolines have high weight ratings; however, these figures are based on one person using the trampoline. For safety purposes, VULY recommends no more than one user of the trampoline at a
PAGE
6
time. Multiple users at once may lead to injury from collisions, over-stretching of the springs or jumping mat damage. Returned trampolines frames are stress tested to determine whether the original strength specifications were met. 4. Rusting may eventually result, as the frames are constructed of galvanized steel. VULY trampolines are double galvanized. This means that they are galvanized both on the inside and out, to prevent the oxidization of the steel. Surface rust may occur at a faster rate than normal in areas such as welding spots, underneath the padding where moisture becomes retained in contact with the frame, and the frame section under the springs where springs contact the steel when the user bounces too close to the frame. 5. Surface rust can be easily removed with a sturdy cloth and cleaning agent. An anti-rust spray and petroleum jelly is recommended to be used in such areas and on springs to further prevent any trampoline damage. 6. Never use a trampoline with stretched or damaged springs. Replace them with springs of the same dimensions before continuing use. VULY recommends only
the use of VULY springs. Note: use of any other branded parts or parts not specified for use by VULY will void any warranty on the product. 7. VULY recommends a minimum of four adults to move a trampoline to ensure the lift is well within heavy lifting guidelines. Dragging or not sufficiently lifting may cause bending or warping of the joins and welds of the frame. If warping of the frame occurs, it can be easily fixed by having two people opposite each other on either side of the trampoline lift the trampoline where the warp is at its lowest point. This lifting technique may not work in extreme cases of distortion or if the welds and joins are bent as a result of the warp. If the lifting technique does not work the trampoline should be disassembled and reassembled in the correct and straight manner to return the trampoline to its original shape. 8. Do not tilt up the trampoline to rest on its side, as the frame may bend under its own weight. 9. Regularly remove the W-shaped feet of the trampoline one at a time and ensure that any water present is drained out and dried before reassembly.
10. Ensure you clean your trampoline only with a soft sponge to avoid premature wear on the galvanized finish. 11. Rain water, if not wiped off, may result in spots forming from residue left from the water as it dries. Any water applied to clean the surface must be wiped dry with a clean cloth or chamois and not left to dry in the sun. 12. To prevent noise emitting from the trampoline frame as it ages, apply a multipurpose grease lubricant to the inside of the joins prior to assembly of the frame.
Jumping Mat and Springs 1. Before using the trampoline, check the surface of the mat for foreign objects and remove them before use. 2. A trampoline is not suitable for use if there are any holes present in the mat. 3. To ensure the user obtains the maximum bounce potential in the safest conditions, VULY recommends that the trampoline springs are replaced every three years. Contact VULY for replacement part prices. 4. A trampoline is not suitable for use if any
of the springs are missing, stretched or damaged in any way. 5. Ensure you clean your trampoline only with a soft sponge to avoid premature wear on the mat. 6. Do not use soaps or detergents, as these can lead to damage of the mat. 7. Rain water, if not wiped off, may result in spots forming from residue left from the water as it dries. Any water applied to clean the surface must be wiped dry with a clean cloth or chamois and not left to dry in the sun.
Safety Net 1. Inspect the trampoline enclosure before each use and replace any worn, defective, or missing parts. The following conditions could represent potential hazards: • Missing, improperly positioned, or insecurely attached barrier or enclosure support system (frame) padding and pole caps. • Punctures, frays, tears, or holes worn in the barrier or support system (frame) padding. • Deterioration in the stitching or fabric of the barrier or support system (frame) padding.
• Bent or broken support system (frame). • Sagging barrier. • Sharp protrusions on the support (frame) or suspension system. 2. Prolonged exposure of the safety net of UV rays from the sun can lead to a shortened lifespan of the material. When the trampoline will not be in use for a substantial time, e.g. winter or storm seasons, remove the safety net and store indoors in a cool dry place out of sunlight. 3. The user of the trampoline must not have any solid or sharp objects present on their person while using the trampoline. These foreign objects may cause damage to the safety netting, jumping mat or safety padding. 4. VULY does not condone pets to be on the trampoline at any time, as sharp claws may also cause damage to the safety netting, jumping mat, or safety padding of the trampoline. 5. Always check for bends in the safety netting poles before using your trampoline. 6. Regularly check that the safety netting pole screws remain in a working state, are completely fastened and are tight.

BASIC | Skills This appendix contains advice on how
Bouncing
to perform the fundamental bounces on a trampoline. These instructions contain information on basic skills, landing positions, and how to perform series of drops.
The most important thing about bouncing is that it should be done with control in the center of the bed. The basic bounce should always begin low. High, reckless bouncing should never be allowed.
The Stop Bounce This technique allows the jumper to gain control by stopping quickly. It is achieved by keeping the feet in contact with the bed, and absorbing the rebound of the trampoline with the knees and waist. This skill should be the first skill learned and should be used whenever you feel out of balance or land away from the center area. To learn the stop bounce: 1. Stand in center of the bed with your feet about hip-width apart. 2. Attempt about three easy bounces, keep them low and controlled. 3. Focus your eyes towards the perimeter of the trampoline while bouncing in order to keep your balance. 4. Stop the bounce by bending at your knees and hips on contact with the bed.
PAGE
8
Arm Action Arms are very important for proper control and lift. Whenever you go up, your arms should go up also. They go up to a set position about shoulder height and shoulder width. They should remain in this balanced position until you start down. Then they circle down and slightly behind the hips, ready to lift again as you bounce up (see Figure B1). Figure|B2 Figure|B1
Figure|B3
Bounce Variations Figures B2, B3 and B4 show three variations: the tuck, the pike, and the straddle pike, respectively. These should be assumed at the top of the bounce, before resuming the normal landing position on your feet. Practice these simple variations and concentrate on perfect form. Make sure that your toes are pointed and fingers are straight. These are simple variations to the basic bounce and are very important for gaining experience in coordinated movement. Please visit vulytrampolines.com to view the entire list of basic skills.

Hook the springs into the holes that are in the top of the frame so they are ready to be attached to the mat. Insert the long end of the spring in the frame and the shorter end onto the mat.
STEP
08
Take the mat and align the logo to be parallel to one of the w-shaped poles of the frame. Connect one spring to hold the mat in place and count out around 8 to 10 buckles next to the connected spring by visually aligning your hand with the holes in the frame where the springs go. Note: Remember there are also holes for springs underneath the frame which need to be counted when aligning your hand with the buckles. Connect a spring onto the mat which should be a quarter of the way around the frame in relation to the initial spring that was attached. Continue to count the buckles and

spring holes and attach springs onto the buckles until there is a spring to the left of every join spaced evenly around the trampoline. Tip: The easiest method of attaching a spring is to have the spring first attached to the mat and then use the spring tool to pull the spring out from the mat by using your entire body weight. If you would like to install the safety net, skip the next steps and begin reading the safety net instructions.
09
Hook the springs onto the mat at each quarter by continually walking around the trampoline in a clockwise direction. Once the top springs are connected to the mat, hook the remaining springs onto the mat and then attach them to the underside of the frame in the same manner that the top springs were attached.

Lay the net out on the trampoline and find the seam to the left of the zipper doorway. Align the hole at the base of the seam with the first spring to the left of the join that is just left of where the logo on the trampoline mat is facing. Push the hole in the net at the bottom of the seam over the buckle on the mat and attach that spring to that buckle.
STEP
03
Work your way clockwise around the trampoline pushing the net over each corresponding buckle for every hole in the net.
STEP
04
Attach the remaining springs onto the trampoline by moving around the frame in a clockwise direction and attaching a spring next to each spring that has already been attached to the frame. Note: The net will now be properly secured onto the frame as it will not come off due to the springs being attached.

STEP
06
Use the supplied screwdriver to pry out the plastic plugs that are pressed into the frame joins. Tip: to easily identify where the plugs are simply look under the pads where the holes in the pads for the net poles are.
05
To finish securing the net, remove the springs that were initially placed on the frame as they were attached before the net was placed on the trampoline. Re-attach these springs with the hole in the net pushed over the buckles as per the last step.

07
Take one of the long net poles and insert an elastic net hook bolt through the hole in the middle of the pole and out the other side of the pole. Tip: To find the hole easier, simply spread the foam pieces away from each other until you find the hole. Use the supplied spanner to screw the nut onto the end of the bolt then insert the net pole covers over all of the net pole parts. Note: Cross-threading the bolt by misaligning the nut and attempting to screw it on will cause permanent damage to the thread on the bolt so ensure the nut is placed onto the bolt correctly.

08
Take a shorter net pole and slot the lower end inside the top of the lower net pole. The end which is inserted into the lower net pole can be identified by having a smaller diameter that the other end and by not having a plastic cap that prevents water from entering at the top. Turn the poles around until the holes align for a net hook bolt to be pushed entirely through the hole. The bolt can then be fixing on using the same method outlined in step 5. Note: Make sure the elastic end of both hooks that were just attached to the net poles face the same way.
STEP
09
Fix the final elastic net hook bolt through the top of the short net pole with the elastic facing the same side as the previous two elastic ties. Repeat steps 7 and 8 until all of the net poles are completed.
STEP
10
Slot one completed net pole into the frame of the trampoline by guiding the pole through the hole in the safety padding and into the hole in the join in the frame. Turn the pole in the frame until the hole in the pole aligns with the hole that is on the front face of the frame join. Continue to insert all of the net poles into the holes in the frame until they are all in the correct place.
STEP
12
Find a plastic buckle on the top of the net and lift the net from this point to fins where the net raises up to. Attach the buckle in your hand to the top elastic net hook on the nearest pole by putting the hook through the through the hole in the plastic buckle. Attach all of the plastic buckles to their nearest elastic net hooks on the net poles until the net is supported by all of the plastic buckles. Tip: Hook the elastic hooks onto the plastic buckles at the top of the net first to make finding the lower buckles much easier as they will be pulled close to where they need to attach onto their corresponding elastic hooks. Congratulations! You have finished installing a net onto your trampoline.
STEP
11
Use the supplied screwdriver to insert a screw into the front face of one of the joins to fix the net pole to the frame. Insert a screw into each join in the frame to fix all of the net poles to the frame.
