Have you tried everything for anxiety and panic help and NOTHING has actually helped? I know how that feels. It feels horrible. It's like having to fear stepping out of your own front door because anything could trigger that horrible feeling in your chest at any time - and if you manage to stay home permanently but then something in your own home starts to trigger that feeling.. well that's like being doomed to live in you-know-where. I lived something like that for a while. I had just had my son and for some reason I was just terrified that something was going to happen to him. And, even when I wasn't thinking about him at all I was totally on hair-trigger. Anything could set me off. My biggest fear (and it happened a few times) was that I would cry uncontrollably in public. One thing that set me off easily was criticism. I remember being an adult and crying because a college professor was expecting something from me I didn't know. Another time I just started crying in the doctor's office. It was quite unnerving. The doctor actually put me on anti-depressants because I literally was crying for no reason. Anyway, enough about me. I'm over it now. I don't have anxiety and I don't feel panic. If I ever do feel anxiety I know what to do immediately to soothe myself. What worked for me was a gradual shifting of beliefs and attitudes and how I deal with both life and these anxious and panicy feelings. Over many years, by the time I was 30, I had kind of boxed myself into what was comfortable to me and shut myself off from life. I did the same with my feelings. I shut myself off from most of them, especially the painful and scary ones, and stuck with comfortable feelings (boredom, irritated, angry, blaming, resentful, occasionally content or excited). and that's it. Over time, I was able to be more welcoming and allowing with my painful and scary feelings, and overtime I got more comfortable venturing back out into life again to. A shift in my beliefs and how I dealt with my own thoughts was what helped me the most. Some books that really helped me were Emotional Clearing, anything by Abraham-Hicks, You can Feel Good Again, and the Sedona Method.
