Youngest to make one hundred paintings on canvas

The record for being the youngest to make 100 paintings on canvas was set by Mohamed Farhan of Bengaluru, Karnataka. He made 100 beautiful paintings at the age of 7 years, 8 months and 19 days. He was also a part of an art exhibition conducted by Artistic Hues at Rangoli Art Centre, Bengaluru.

A seven-year-old student of Grade-2, Farhan is enchanted with the world of art. He portrayed his interest in art when he was barely three months old. Farhan was introduced to Tempera paints when he was six months old and while he was three and a half years old, he had already completed his first artwork titled ‘Sunset In Africa’, inspired by his trip to Africa. Today, this child prodigy has a whopping 100 paintings to his credit.

Talking about his inspiration, Farhan says, “All impressionists, especially Van Gogh, inspired me to do art. I love the bright colours and vibrant hues he uses for his paintings. My grandmother is a great artist too. She inspired me to take up impressionism as a genre of art. I did many paintings on paper and eventually, my mother gave me canvas when I was 3.5 years old. From then began the journey of my paintings with acrylics on canvas. I want to paint as much as I can and as my studies allow me to.”
